<< Background >>We applied because we recognized the urgent need to raise awareness about water pollution, scarcity, and unequal access to clean water. Traditional teaching methods often don’t provide students with enough practical skills or critical thinking opportunities. The project responded to this gap by offering innovative learning experiences and international cooperation, helping young people and teachers understand the importance of clean water and how to act responsibly.<< Objectives >>Our main goal was to raise awareness of global water challenges and give students and teachers practical skills to address them. We wanted young people to understand the causes and consequences of water pollution, think critically, and act responsibly in their daily lives. Another important objective was to strengthen international cooperation between Poland, Turkey, and Romania, allowing participants to share ideas, exchange good practices, and work together on sustainable solutions.<< Implementation >>The project included a week-long programme, during which participants took part in scientific workshops, field trips to collect and analyse water samples, cultural exchanges, group work, and a final evaluation. We also organized a three-day virtual meeting in Romania dedicated to sustainable water use, where students and teachers designed practical water-saving plans for schools and local communities. Furthermore, we implemented awareness campaigns to involve the local population and prepared teaching materials to support teachers. Our staff also received training in innovative teaching methods to ensure long-term impact.<< Results >>The project achieved significant educational and social outcomes. It promoted environmental literacy and sustainability education, enhanced students’ motivation for scientific inquiry, and encouraged teachers to adopt interdisciplinary and project-based learning approaches within their curricula. Moreover, the initiative strengthened European cooperation and intercultural understanding, as students and staff worked collaboratively across borders to address a shared global challenge. The project’s long-term impact is evident in the establishment of eco-clubs, awareness events, and local sustainability initiatives within partner schools, ensuring the continuity of its values and practices. In conclusion, “Water Challenges Through Innovative Education” successfully combined environmental science, innovation, and cultural exchange to empower young people to become responsible and proactive advocates for a sustainable and water-conscious future.
