"<< Background >>We applied for the ""Digi4You"" project to address the high youth unemployment rates and skill gaps among NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) in Europe, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In Austria, low-skilled unemployment doubled since 2008, while Spain faced high youth unemployment (30.5% in 2019) and job quality issues. Italy struggled with slow economic growth and high NEET rates, and Turkey had the highest NEET rate (29.5%) among OECD countries in 2019. The pandemic further impacted young people's employment and education, leading to skill deficits and job market challenges. The ""Digi4You"" project aimed to reduce these inequalities by improving NEETs' digital and soft skills through targeted online courses. By leveraging the expertise of partners from Austria, Spain, Italy, and Turkey, we sought to develop a common solution to upskill NEETs, reduce youth unemployment, and promote social inclusion across Europe.<< Objectives >>The ""Digi4You"" Project aimed to reduce the inequalities faced by young NEETs in skills formation and job market competition exacerbated by the pandemic. We sought to improve NEETs' digital and soft skills through targeted online courses tailored to their needs. The primary objectives included increasing the quality of education and training for youth staff in partner countries and Europe by providing structured content and tools to enhance digital abilities and soft skills. We aimed to improve NEETs' competencies through digital skills education and ICT use, expanding their problem-solving, creativity, communication, time management, and teamwork abilities. Additionally, we wanted to enhance their employability by teaching digital skills management and portfolio creation. The project also sought to develop NEETs' competence in creativity through imaginative methods and boost their knowledge in harnessing digital skills. We aimed to promote the integrated use of ICT for NEETs and Youth Trainers, ensuring NEETs could create quality online content, build digital portfolios, produce engaging presentations, and connect with professionals. Through exercises, tools, and tips, we provided skills development to young NEETs.<< Implementation >>The ""Digi4You"" Project implemented a comprehensive set of activities to achieve its objectives. We executed bilateral agreements and developed a robust communication strategy. An action plan with a predefined Gantt chart was created for all activities, ensuring clear timelines and responsibilities. We produced detailed TPM reports and minutes, established a quality assurance and assessment strategy, and held advisory board meetings in each partner country with experts from educational NGOs, training institutes, youth centers, universities, and community-based organizations. Dissemination and exploitation strategies were developed, resulting in dissemination reports and an exploitation report for the short-term and long-term sustainability of the project's core activities and results.A multilingual project web platform was created, along with digital dissemination materials such as leaflets, flyers, and banners. Publications and press releases were issued to raise awareness about the project. We developed several key resources, including the Digital Skills Training Framework (R1), Digital Skills Training Toolkit (R2), Guidebook for Youth Trainers to Improve Digital Soft Skills (R3), Digital Skills Online Application (R4), and Usability and User Experience Evaluation Tool (R5).Informative sessions and thematic workshops were organized, and pilot training sessions were conducted to test and refine the resources. The project website and an e-learning platform and app were developed to provide ongoing access to the training materials. Finally, we arranged multiplier events such as the ""Workshop on Digital Skills for Employment Practices"" in partner countries and the ""Final Conference of Digital Skills for Employment: New Perspectives"" to disseminate the project outcomes and ensure their sustainability.<< Results >>The ""Digi4You"" Project produced several concrete outputs and significant results to enhance the employability of young NEETs through improved digital and soft skills.R1 - Digital Skills Training Framework: We designed a course curriculum covering digital skills, practical strategies, creating digital portfolios, presentations, and digital content. It included a comparative needs analysis of the current digital skills situation among youth, their needs, and expectations, along with examples of good practices in the four partner countries.R2 - Digital Skills Training Toolkit: Based on the framework, we developed a training course with an optimum of 36 hours of content. This toolkit provided structured training to rapidly improve digital skills, tailored to the needs identified in the framework.R3 - Guidebook for Youth Trainers: We created a guidebook to enhance the skills of youth trainers in developing both soft and digital skills. It included concepts and techniques to effectively work with young people, helping them improve their employability.R4 - Digital Skills Online Application: This online e-learning platform included videos, guidebooks, practical tips, exercises, tools, and tricks to enhance digital skills. It provided accessible and user-friendly resources to support ongoing skill development.R5 - Usability and User Experience Evaluation Tool: We developed a tool to conduct usability testing during the project's testing. It aimed to establish a baseline of user performance and validate user performance measures, ensuring the effectiveness and usability of the project's digital resources. These results collectively aimed to improve youths' digital capacity, soft skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall employability by leveraging their digital and ICT knowledge."
