"<< Background >>he project applied to address a critical gap in accessible and engaging citizen science education for adults, particularly within vulnerable communities. The primary needs addressed were: For Adult Learners: A lack of engaging, practical tools and accessible learning opportunities to foster scientific literacy, critical thinking, and active participation in scientific endeavors, promoting social inclusion. For Adult Educators: A need for structured curricula, innovative pedagogical methods, and enhanced competences to effectively integrate citizen science into adult education programs.<< Objectives >>The project aimed to enhance citizen participation in science, particularly for adults and vulnerable communities. Our objectives included developing innovative educational tools and methodologies, fostering scientific literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and promoting active citizenship, social inclusion, and equity in education.<< Implementation >>The project implemented activities including: developing a Citizen Science Framework and a State-of-the-Art Report (WP2); co-creating, piloting, and documenting five Citizen Science Playboxes (WP3); developing a comprehensive Citizen Science Curriculum, conducting a Co-creation Edu Lab, and implementing local multiplier trainings (WP4); and establishing a Citizen Science in Adult Education Portal to foster a Community of Practice (WP5). Overall project management and coordination were ongoing throughout (WP1).<< Results >>The ScieCitizens 2.0 project produced several concrete outputs and significant results: Citizen Science Framework: A comprehensive framework for integrating citizen science into adult education, detailed in the ""State-of-the-Art Report."" Citizen Science Playboxes: Five innovative, co-created, and piloted Playboxes (""The Association Maschine,"" ""The Absolute Truth"" STEM Play-Box, ""The Usual Suspects,"" ""Familab,"" and ""Truth or Trend""). These were piloted with over 100 participants in 10 local settings and successfully integrated into three prominent museums (ZKM Karlsruhe, Museum of Science Trento, Naturkundemuseum Berlin). ScieCitizens 2.0 Curriculum: A complete curriculum formalized in the ""Handbook for Citizens Science & Social Science."" This curriculum was developed through a Co-creation Edu Lab, used in local multiplier trainings, and is additionally available as an online course on Moodle for self-learners. Citizen Science in Adult Education Portal: An online platform (https://sciecitizens.diffusecreativitythinkers.com) that serves as a dynamic Community of Practice (CoP) for adult educators, citizens, and researchers, disseminating all project results as Open Educational Resources (OERs)."
