<< Background >>This project was designed to address the critical gaps in youth work by creating innovative, accessible, and practical tools for financial literacy education. Leveraging the expertise of transnational partners and non-formal education methods, the project introduced a comprehensive approach to supporting disadvantaged youth. The toolkit—comprising a detailed NFE manual, an engaging board game, and an interactive escape room kit—provides youth workers with the resources needed to effectively engage young people, enhance self-awareness, and develop essential financial and social skills. The initiative targeted vulnerable groups such as youth in social care, young migrants, and those from marginalized rural areas, where gaps in financial management competence often lead to cycles of poverty and exclusion. By addressing these needs, the project not only equips youth workers with effective methods but also empowers young people to build independent, financially responsible lives. With its innovative tools and scalable approach, the project ensures a lasting impact, fostering better integration and opportunities for disadvantaged communities.<< Objectives >>The objectives were established through collaborative meetings among partners, board members, youth workers, and youth beneficiaries, ensuring relevance to the needs of the target groups.Developing Competences for Youth: The project sought to enhance the financial and self-understanding skills of at least 150 disadvantaged young people across Romania, Spain, and Portugal within 18 months. This included addressing specific challenges faced by youth in residential apartments (Romania), young migrants (Spain), and those from rural areas (Portugal).Building Capacity for Youth Workers: It focused on improving the training skills of 60 youth workers by equipping them with non-formal education (NFE) methods and innovative tools, including a board game and an Educational Escape Room Kit.
