Upscaling digital skills in the tourism sector

<< Objectives >>The objectives:To address the needs for digitization in the tourism sector, particularly in light of the challenges posed after the pandemic.To identify and bridge the digital skill gap within the tourism industry, ensuring that its workforce is well-prepared for a more digitized world.To design practical case studies and showcase them through a digital platformTo produce a comprehensive handbook that guides readers in effectively utilizing the project's results for professional purposes.<< Implementation >>There are three main activities that will be implemented during the lifetime of this project: 1) Training Events 2) Digital Platform 3) Dissemination Handbook. Creating a digital platform features a series of training events tailored for adult learners, tourism SMEs, Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) and tourism agencies, by experts in the areas of 360 videos, Artificial Intelligence, digital marketing & online customer services. A digital handbook will be also created and translated.<< Results >>Training and upskilling the target group members during the project's lifecycle, with an additional people benefiting within two years after the project's completion. Increased usage of digital technologies in the training of Tourism SMEs are also an expected result of the project. The effects of the training and handbook will be measured through surveys from the clients which will help contribute to the daily lives of EU residents with improved and sustainable operations for the tourism sector.
