THE POWER OF ONE- CHANGE YOUR FOOTPRINT

<< Background >>Our research indicated that there was a strong need among people to contribute to the sustainable development and make an impact but they suffered from a lack of concrete knowledge of environmental changes, footprint and its meaning, and weren’t aware of the steps they should take to be more green and engaged in SDGs. People were unable to recognize their role in the transition to sustainable development to create a bright future for everybody and they were in need of developing a positive, critical, aware and courageous attitude towards the SDGs. Additionally, they were reporting a lack of assistance in distance and digital learning. On the other hand, our research indicated a strong need among seniors to be active, feel needed and educated and at the same time, they reported that they were feeling excluded because of not having skills and competences necessary to participate and benefit from distance and digital learning opportunities which was particularly visible during the pandemics. Since our population is getting older each day, there was also a need to find an intergenerational bridge and common interest between different age groups to enhance integration and sense of belonging to a community. << Objectives >>The main objective of this project was to empower adults and seniors from local communities of the partners’ organizations to make a positive impact, to make a positive change in making a better future for the planet and people, by exploration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and manifesting them in real life. The aim of this project was to raise awareness of sustainability choices and contribute to the achievement of the 17SDGs by a variety of workshops involving target groups. The project goal was to provide adult and senior educators with tools to design and facilitate digital and distance learning, to adapt digital competences and build capacity of adult educators to implement online teaching and learning by using special methodology, creative techniques, inclusive learning, eLearning. The project was also a need for participating organizations as it brought long lasting effects by enabling participating organizations to gain experience in international cooperation and strengthening partners' capacities in building readiness and managing them towards digital education in a creative and inclusive manner.<< Implementation >>During the project lifetime the following activities were implemented:- project management and administration, - financial management, reporting, meetings with stakeholders, target groups, consultations with target groups, organization of partners meetings,- QUALITY ASSURANCE and project evaluation: Quality Assurance Plan, evaluation questionnaires and reports,- SHARING, PROMOTION, DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION: Sharing and use of results, the development of the Project Website, Regular Newsletters, each 6 months, articles and other promotional materials, such as sustainable planted pencils. - development of project results: PR1 FOOTPRINT CALCULATOR AND SDG SCENARIOS, PR2 HANDBOOK: HOW TO TEACH INCLUSIVE IN DIGITAL ERA METHODOLOGY FOR SUSTAINABLE LEARNING, PR3 SUSTAINABLE ENGAGEMENT, PR4 TRAINING THE TRAINERS WORKSHOPS<< Results >>In order to achieve these needs, throughout the duration of the project, partnership has made a great contribution to distance and digital learning by developing materials for digital learning such as training materials, guidelines on how to teach, and others and uploading them into e-learning platform. The project developed the following results:PR1 FOOTPRINT CALCULATOR AND 17 SDG SCENARIOS - The Self-analysis Footprint questionnaire was made by participants to evaluate the results of each member of partner staff which they have scored on the footprint calculator. The publication provides tools to support teachers in integrating informal learning rules and methods into the education process for adults and seniors. These 17 scenarios covered social analysis, integration, critical thinking, and active citizenship. Supplementary materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, facilitate learning, making it more interactive and engaging.PR2 HANDBOOK -HOW TO TEACH INCLUSIVE IN DIGITAL ERA METHODOLOGY FOR SUSTAINABLE LEARNING- Handbook in the form of 12 Multimedia Presentations: Each presentation includes educational content, guidelines for teachers/trainers, regarding teaching seniors, additional resources to download, and tips for implementing inclusive education, which contributes to SDG10—reduced inequalities. The presentations cover topics such as problem-solving, intercultural mediation, critical thinking, brainstorming, gamification-based learning, enhancing engagement, group work, and methods and strategies for digital teaching.PR3 SUSTAINABLE ENGAGEMENT- The handbook and a set of supplementary exercises provide a package of theories and tools for self-study for adult educators and adult learners, supporting engagement in sustainable development issues at both individual and organizational levels. This educational package is based on Dr. Martin Seligman's PERMA model. It covers career anchors, ikigai, mindfulness, social styles, comfort zones, and the art of building relationships.PR4 TRAINING THE TRAINERS WORKSHOPS- This handbook describes methodologies designed to engage seniors in sustainable development initiatives. It details the project results and provides essential guidelines for preparing workshops. The workshop program includes, among other things, a project presentation, an e-learning platform presentation, universal design in education, the SDG game and supplementary workshops on the Ofman Quadrant.
