<< Background >>With the project, we wanted to address the need for education focused on sustainable water management in agriculture and the challenges brought about by climate change. Water is a critical resource in agriculture, but its availability and quality are increasingly threatened by environmental change and unsustainable practices. Our schools have identified several key needs: 1. Improving the quality of educational content by creating comprehensive teaching materials in the field of sustainable water use and protection. 2. Strengthening the professional knowledge of teachers. 3. Enhancing the preparation of students for future challenges by equipping them with practical skills, environmental awareness and knowledge of innovative methods in agriculture. 4. Building international cooperation to exchange best practices and provide teachers and students with a broader perspective on global environmental challenges.<< Objectives >>The goal of our project was to increase the quality of vocational education in the field of teaching about water management in agriculture in the countries of the partner schools. We wanted the teachers in the partner schools to focus on this topic, prepare a teaching unit for their school dealing with the most pressing problems of this topic in their country and introduce it into their school's educational programs. At the same time, we wanted the students of the partner schools to learn about these topics and share their knowledge with each other. Therefore, they created their presentations on this topic and during international meetings in partner schools, they became familiar with the issues which the partners´ countries face. Another goal was to strengthen the internationalization of schools, improve language competence of the participants and find new social partners for future cooperation with partner schools.<< Implementation >>In our project, the teachers of the partner schools first created teaching units focused on the most pressing topics related to water management in agriculture in their country. They then verified these teaching units in practice while teaching their students. Subsequently, students created their presentations on this issue, which they then shared with students in partner schools. During the international meetings of students, which took place in each partner country, the participants gained additional knowledge about the issues of each country and gained many new experiences during various excursions.<< Results >>Each partner school prepared a teaching unit focused on specific aspects of water management in agriculture, reflecting the unique conditions and challenges of their region. These materials were complemented by presentations created by students, showcasing the issues their countries face in the field of agricultural water management and proposing solutions to these challenges.Through these activities, both pupils and teachers enhanced their knowledge, skills, and competences related to water management in agriculture. The project also facilitated the introduction or expansion of this topic into the educational programs of partner schools, ensuring that future generations of students will benefit from the knowledge gained during the project.Another important outcome was the establishment of new partnerships with social partners involved in project activities, as well as the strengthening of cooperation with existing ones. Additionally, the project contributed to improving the language competences of both pupils and teachers. Those involved in project administration gained valuable new knowledge and experience, and the project also fostered new friendships and connections among pupils, teachers, and other participants.
