"<< Background >>We applied for the DI-Va project to address crucial needs and concerns in relation to the rights and inclusion of adults (18-60) with specific disabilities, particularly Down syndrome. Our motivation stemmed from the evident lack of support and opportunities available to disabled individuals, particularly in the areas of socialization, arts, and performance. We recognized the social stigma and exclusion faced by disabled individuals, which often hindered their participation in activities that bring joy and pleasure. This project aimed to address these needs by providing a platform for individuals with disabilities to engage in performing arts, fostering their development, boosting their self-confidence, and promoting their social integration.Through the DI-Va project, we sought to create a positive impact on the lives of adults with Down syndrome. The project aimed to enhance their inclusion by promoting socialization, integration, and a culture of respect and solidarity. We recognized the chronic lack of assistance and proper funding for disabled individuals, and the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated their social isolation. << Objectives >>By implementing the DI-Va project, our primary aim was to achieve several key objectives. Firstly, we wanted to improve the inclusion of adults with Down syndrome by promoting socialization, integration, and fostering a culture of respect and solidarity. Through the project, we aimed to create a supportive environment that would empower individuals with disabilities and enhance their overall quality of life.A specific objective of the project was the creation of a training course in performing arts, which participants with disabilities could attend in Rome, Istanbul, and Spain (which have been implemented online due to Earthquake in Turkey at the beginning of 2023). Our goal was to provide them with an opportunity to acquire new skills and develop their artistic abilities. We wanted to enable them to express themselves through creative outlets, building their self-confidence and enhancing their personal growth.Additionally, we aimed to organize a final event in Rome, where the participants would have the chance to perform in front of a live audience. This event would serve as a culmination of their training and provide a platform to showcase their newfound talents. << Implementation >>Writing, Consulting, and Planning: This involved the initial stages of the project, including project design, consulting with partners, and developing a detailed plan for implementation.Financial Management and Coordination: This activity focused on managing the project finances, ensuring proper budget allocation, and coordinating financial aspects among the partners.Communication and Coordination: We established effective communication channels between the project partners to ensure smooth coordination and exchange of information throughout the project duration.Organization of Activities: This included the organization and logistics of various project activities, such as the performing arts training courses and the final event.Impact Evaluation: We conducted an evaluation to measure the impact of the project activities on the Performers, including their performing abilities, self-confidence, and overall enjoyment of life.Dissemination: We implemented dissemination strategies to share the project's outcomes and achievements with a wider audience.
