English
<< Background >>We applied for this project to increase students' interest in science and technology, to equip teachers with innovative teaching methods (especially CLIL), and to promote the effective use of digital tools in classrooms. Additionally, there was a need to improve students’ environmental awareness, enhance their English language skills, and strengthen intercultural communication. The project aims to support the development of 21st century skills for both students and teachers. We realized that our students need more motivation, especially in science and technology. Since English education at our school is still at a basic level, our students need to improve their practical communication skills for both daily life and academic contexts. It is also important for our teachers to improve their knowledge and experience in innovative teaching methods and digital technologies. Furthermore, we identified a need to raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainable living. Therefore, we needed a project that supports academic success while also promoting students’ social and cultural development. In this way, we aim to help them become well-equipped, confident, and conscious individuals prepared for the future.<< Objectives >>The objectives we aimed to achieve through the implementation of this project were:To spark greater interest and motivation among students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects by making learning more engaging, relevant, and hands on,To support teachers in adopting and effectively applying innovative teaching methods, particularly CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), to improve both subject learning and language skills,To enhance the overall quality of education by integrating modern digital tools such as Web 2.0 applications into the teaching process, making learning more interactive and student centered,To improve students’ English language proficiency, enabling them to communicate more confidently and effectively in both academic and real life contexts, while also promoting intercultural awareness and understanding,To increase students’ awareness of environmental issues and sustainable living, encouraging them to become more responsible, conscious individuals who actively care for their environment,To strengthen our school communities through international collaboration and lasting partnerships that promote mutual learning.<< Implementation >>During the project, we conducted three main mobilities and nine online meetings.A five-day teacher training was organized in Belgium, focusing on CLIL methodology, Web 2.0tools, and STEM education through practical workshops. In Turkey and Poland, five-day mobilities involving both teachers and students were held. InTurkey, STEM Olympiads were organized, and students participated in various workshops inengineering, science, and mathematics. Additionally, STEM experiment sessions were conductedwith science teachers within the CLIL framework. In Poland, STEM workshops, environmental awareness activities, and CLIL training wereprovided. Students carried out various experiments at a planetarium and an astronomyobservatory. Cultural activities and international collaborations were also an important part of theprogram.Throughout the project, nine online meetings were held. During the first meeting, we preparedbudget and task distribution tables and planned the project. In the subsequent meetings, wereviewed the progress of project activities, revisited the distribution of tasks among partners, andresolved issues encountered. We prepared for upcoming mobilities, planned dissemination strategies.<< Results >>The concrete outputs of our project are:Teachers effectively applied the CLIL methodology and gained valuable experience,Pre-tests and post-tests were conducted to measure students’ knowledge and skills in STEM fields,Presentations, videos, and educational materials were shared,Active communication and dissemination were carried out through eTwinning, the project website, Instagram, and Padlet,Numerous STEM experiment reports were prepared by students and teachers,Students showed improvements in self-confidence and scientific problem-solving skills,Teachers began using innovative methods and digital tools in their classrooms,Sustainable practices supporting STEM and language integration started at our school, strengthening the culture of collaboration,Knowledge sharing continues among partner schools and project outputs are preserved in digital archives,Students and teachers gained effective skills in using Web 2.0 tools.
