<< Background >>Young people, who have lesser opportunities, often have a distance to the labour market. Their lesser opportunities can stem from their background, living situation or other. This can cause young people to be less able to find work. To help young people gain the skills, which can help them to find jobs, the project developed a programme, in which they learn about entrepreneurial skills. These skills help them strengthen their position on the labour market. << Objectives >>The objectives of the Young Boss project were set in the proposal as: - Create more awareness on (social) entrepreneurial opportunities amongst youngsters with lesser opportunities between 13-17 years old - Promote entrepreneurial behaviour and invigorate the development of entrepreneurial skills amongst youngsters with lesser opportunities between 13-17 years old - Provide practical tools to engage youngsters with lesser opportunities between 13-17 years old in (social) entrepreneurship Young Boss had as goal to reach these objectives by developing and testing a methodology which will engage youngsters with lesser opportunities in (social) entrepreneurship. Young Boss aimed to guide these youngsters from through all stages of developing their business idea, testing etc. up until the realisation of the business. This is directly linked to the selected priority which is focused on youth (social) entrepreneurship.<< Implementation >>During the projects lifetime the partners have implemented several activities: - Planning and preparation Young Boss- business idea generator (A1) - Planning and preparation Young Boss - business idea generator (A2) - Implementation and follow-up Young Boss – business idea generator (A3) - Young Boss Promotional video (A4). KADO was responsible as lead for the first three activities and Dom Mladih for the last one. These were all divided into sub activities. A1 was divided into: - creating an activity work plan. – organizing a kick-off meeting to kick-off the project. A2 did not have sub-activities. A3 was divided into: - testing the material created in A2 - organising a TPM – follow up on the material created and tested. A4 was divided into – planning and preparation of the video – development of the video – follow-up (organisation of event). << Results >>In the first phase of the project the partners were able to create research to ask input from teachers and mentors which worked in the field. The partnership received 11 responses to these surveys. The information given, was a confirmation to continue with topics, which the partners were already inclining to move towards. During the second phase the partners used the input gathered in A1 to develop a programme. This programme was divided into 6 workshops. Each workshop discusses different topics, to help mentors or teachers teach the youngsters in an active way. Activities and assignments are an active part of the programme. After the development of the workshops, both partners have tested the materials and based on the feedback the final version of the programme has been made. The last outcome is the video, which were created during the testing. After which they were put together.
