De Monte a Monte: Territórios Resilientes

"<< Objectives >>""Hill to Hill: Resilient Territories"" aims to create and promote a network of entities and communities that share social and environmental challenges and seek to create strategies for sustainable living in rural mountain territories in Galicia and Central Portugal. Through capacity-building activities, collaborative processes and mutual learning, the project will strengthen communities in the European semi-periphery, their democratic participation and the resilience of their territories.<< Implementation >>The project aims to create new opportunities for adult participants, with a special focus on rural women and people with limited qualifications. Through training actions that link formal and practical learning, intercommunity exchange activities, citizen science days and participatory sessions, the project aims not only to have a positive impact on the skills and inclusion of the participants, but also on the resilience of the territories and communities in which they operate.<< Results >>We want the project to provide training for the participants in agri-environmental matters, to increase the democratic participation of communities, to share knowledge between communities and the Portuguese and Galician entities involved, and for the cumulative impact of these results to generate a critical mass of people able to develop community management strategies for the territories with a concrete and sustainable impact on the conservation of ecosystems in Galicia and Serra da Estrela."
