"<< Background >>We applied for this project to build digital capacities, promote environmental awareness, and foster inclusion, ensuring that young people and youth workers alike are equipped to address modern challenges effectively. The project directly responded to Erasmus+ priorities, focusing on digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and innovative learning practices. The project aimed to address specific needs, such as:Digital Readiness and Skills DevelopmentYouth workers required training in digital tools and social media strategies to create compelling campaigns that could raise awareness about environmental issues.Environmental Awareness and Sustainability PracticesThere was a pressing need to empower young people to understand environmental challenges and adopt sustainable practices. Inclusion of Marginalized YouthA key focus was reaching young people from economically disadvantaged areas, rural regions, and minority groups. Transnational Cooperation and Knowledge ExchangeStrengthening partnerships between organizations from Greece and Romania was another need we identified.Promotion of Active CitizenshipThe project emphasized empowering young people to participate actively in public life.<< Objectives >>The EDYP aimed to enhance the digital competencies of youth workers and raise environmental awareness among young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, by combining digital education with sustainability-focused learning. The project sought to address the growing need for digital readiness and environmental action by equipping youth workers with tools and strategies to create 3 engaging digital campaigns that promote sustainable practices and climate awareness. A key objective was to develop and implement online campaigns designed to inspire environmental responsibility and active citizenship among youth, leveraging social media platforms to maximize outreach and impact. Additionally, the project emphasized inclusivity by prioritizing the involvement of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring their access to digital resources and environmental education, and empowering them to take leadership roles in their communities. It also focused on fostering transnational cooperation between Greece and Romania, enabling knowledge exchange, shared learning, and long-term partnerships for sustainable development, creatin a scalable and sustainable model for modern youth work that inspires action.<< Implementation >>It began with a virtual meeting, then a needs assessment survey, focus groups and interviews with youth workers and stakeholders to evaluate existing digital skills and eco- knowledge. Based on the findings, a strategic plan was developed to address gaps and define the timeline and methodologies for the subsequent activities​.After we focused on enhancing the digital skills of youth workers.Workshops covered areas such as content creation, social media strategies, environmental storytelling and online advocacy techniques.During this youth workers applied the knowledge gained by 3+1 social media campaigns promoting environmental protection. The 1st was Youtube videos for social media the 2nd was infographics posts for social media and the 3rd was an interactive quiz on 3 languages which allows users to learn even if they answer correctly or not, including score. We also made ""did you know"" posts as extra campaign.We created a learning material on 3 languages, according to data analysis and reports. A monitoring plan was implemented using surveys to gather feedback from participants and stakeholders. We created a platform https://edyps.gr/, which reached 136 users and increased audience. For evidences visit https://shorturl.at/rUEU4<< Results >>One of the primary outputs was the training youth workers from Greece and Romania, who gained advanced competencies in using digital tools and platforms for environmental education and advocacy. These participants completed workshops where they developed practical skills in content creation, social media management, storytelling techniques, and online campaign strategies. As a result, they were equipped to design and implement 3+1 impactful digital campaigns, improving their ability to reach and engage their target audiences​. A result was the launch online promotional content focusing on environmental protection and sustainability practices. These campaigns, developed and managed by the trained youth workers, featured videos, posts, and social media content that reached hundreds of people online. The campaigns raised awareness about environmental issues, promoted eco-friendly habits, and encouraged participation in sustainability initiatives. The reach of these campaigns engaged a broader audience across Greece, Romania, and other European countries.
