"<< Background >>The DREAM project addresses critical environmental and social challenges, aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). It develops innovative resources to educate migrants, including Ukrainian refugees, about sustainable lifestyles, energy use, and the circular economy, fostering social inclusion through environmental awareness and language learning. At a meta level, DREAM responds to the EU Waste Framework Directive, which mandates ambitious recycling targets. Many EU countries face challenges in meeting these goals, highlighting the urgency of citizen education. At an individual level, adult migrants often lack awareness of recycling’s socio-political significance and face barriers due to poor language skills. Recognizing recycling as a European cultural value, DREAM bridges this gap by promoting recycling behavior and sustainable practices in an engaging, accessible format. The project employs edutainment—digital comics and animated videos—to teach complex topics while supporting language acquisition, enabling harmonious integration into host communities.<< Objectives >>The project aimed to address environmental and climate issues by raising awareness about recycling and the circular economy among marginalized adults, Ukrainian war refugees and other migrants with poor linguistic skills. The core objective was to develop didactical tools and interactive multi-media resources on recycling and circular economy that support adult educators and foreign language trainers. The visual resources used edutainment for behaviour modification and encourage newly arrived Adults in Europe to integrate Sustainable Behaviour in everyday life at home and work. The overarching goal was to develop competencies of the migrant adults for effective recycling and behaviour modification for a sustainable lifestyle using ""edutainment"". Through a combination of animated videos, digital comic strips and worksheets, teachers can introduce fundamental concepts of sustainable lifestyle and adapt their didactical resources to teach foreign languages online and in hybrid formats. The learning content based on future-oriented curricula was designed to help bridge the gap in knowledge about climate change, raise awareness about energy consumption and assist in the development of language skills.<< Implementation >>The DREAM project includes coordinator MIA (NO) and 3 partners MINDSHIFT (PT), META4 (AT), DISERUPTIA (ES). DREAM project was scheduled for 12 months with a well-defined scope of responsibility and delegated activities for research, design and developing graphic and animated materials for environmental awareness (GAME didactical resources) in English, German, Portuguese and Spanish. that inform about the circular economy, recycling and linguistic skills. The project management clearly defined quality control measures (monitoring) to ensure structure and effective implementation as per the allocated budget and proposed extensive dissemination to ensure transferability and sustainability. During the lifespan of the project, two Transnational Partner Meetings were held, the first of which focused on action planning, the second on the sustainability of results. In addition, a total of 5 virtual meetings were held, as well as statutory reports on the collective tasks. A Final Dissemination Conference was held in Lisbon during Month 11.<< Results >>Project partners developed:1. Graphic and Animated Edutainment Materials for Environmental Awareness (GAME), to aid in understanding basic Circular Economy and how recycling (e.g., metals, electronics, plastics) can be integrated in daily life practices. GAME was designed by heuristic pedagogy and edutainment-based learning for adult trainers and foreign language teachers to adapt and apply this interactive content for enhanced learning engagement as well as motivating a more sustainable lifestyle. The resource includes a set of 40 didactical tools - 4 digital comics strips and 4 animated videos in 5 languages; English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Norwegian. Each covers the fundamentals of the following topics:- Circular Economy - Organic recycling- Non-organic recycling- Energy efficient lifestyle2. A DREAM project management report comprising of the implementation modalities, risk management, quality assurance, effective dissemination and a post-funding exploitation plan for the project results."
