<< Background >>We wanted to develop the competence of international cooperation, and to exchange experiences of social activation locally with a particular focus on working with adults of different generations on the basis of creative activities. After 10 years of local activities, we saw the need to organize an international exchange for our audience, who wanted to learn about handicraft techniques from another cultural circle and the work of organizations operating in another country. Participants in our workshops verbalized the need for intercultural contacts on the basis of exchange of handicraft skills and joint activities. Preparing to write the project, we did a survey of needs among potential audiences. The Spanish partners cared about the same aspects of cooperation. It was also important for the organization's executives to develop their grant writing skills and manage a large budget and an international team. Participation in the project is in line with the statutory goals of our organizations which are: developing intercultural competencies, building intergenerational and intercultural dialogue and activating local communities.<< Objectives >>The main objective was to activate the local community through artistic and handicraft activities and the development of intercultural competences.At a detailed level, our goals were:1. Intergenerational cooperation based on the exchange of experiences,2. Using art as a tool of social activation and strengthening intercultural dialogue.3. Development of handicraft skills.4. Building a sense of influence on one's surroundings5. Development of civic and community competences6. Creating a space for joint creative work for residents7. Building influence and a sense of agency among local residents by organizing a local artistic event8. Organizing events/exhibitions open to the local community<< Implementation >>We have completed all activities as planned. The project evolved as it went on and we managed to do much more than planned. The range of recipients expanded in relation to the original goals, local organizations in Poland and Spain opened up to cooperation, which resulted in the cascading of knowledge and the organization of further workshops and events for local and international communities.- the first phase is local activities in Gdańsk and Maracena (building a group of leaders, meetings, handicraft workshops); creating communication channels (FB/Messeneger/WhatsApp); project management platforms; creating a graphic identification of the website, information leaflets- study visit to Poland, joint preparation of the vernissage of works and an event open to the local community- study visit to Spain, joint preparation of the vernissage of works and an event open to the local community-continuation of local activities - organization of felting and inlay workshops in Spain and Poland. The main effect of the project is the built interpersonal relationships and positive emotions, which resulted in the creation of friendly bonds between the leaders from both countries. The exchange of intergenerational and intercultural values has opened us up to joint actions. The sense of agency and self-esteem of individuals, their relationship with the group, and responsibility for the process have greatly strengthened. Growth in arts and crafts and creative skills, organization of public events. Breaking communication barriers, developing digital competences in using Social Media and translators. There was a huge increase in the willingness to go further and engage leaders, which resulted in more workshops. We have fully developed the use of handicrafts as a tool for intergenerational and intercultural education. We created a series of felt and inlay works that have built a coherent exhibition, presented in PL and Spain.The result is further cooperation proposals from organizations in PL and Spain. We were invited to present at the international conference Creative Waves - Baltic Sisterhod in GD. Together, we are creating another Erasmus project based on ideas developed in the project.
