The project aims at providing support to cover the international costs to Slovenia for participation to the OECD Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), namely the 2nd round of data collection under the cycle II. PIAAC is a programme of assessment that measures adults' proficiency in key information-processing skills - literacy, numeracy and problem solving - and gathers information and data on how adults use their skills at home, at work and in the wider community. As part of this programme, an international survey is condected under the auspices of the OECD in over 40 countries. Cycle I of the survey was implemented in three rounds of data collection between 2011 and 2018. Cycle II of the survey is being implemented currently, with the first round of data collection already completed and a second round of data collection to be launched soon. The European Commission supports the participation in the survey of the Member States and of the third countries associated to Erasmus+, so that comparable data on the level of skills of adult population, as well as the determinants and the outcomes of skills becomes available in those countries, to inform national as well as European policy. Each participating country is responsible for running a national survey on the target population, thus national authorities are responsible for carrying out all the key activities of the survey (sampling, interviewing, data processing and in-country analysis). To ensure comparability of data, OECD provides a framework in terms of quality criteria as well as what kind of data needs to be collected and submitted, so that it can be part of the international database, set up by OECD.The grant will cover a three year period.
