"<< Background >>The reason for the application was that care should become more person-centred. To achieve this managers of care organisations need to be aware that the organisation structure, style of management, culture of the organisation and the competences of the employees should be in line. In many situations this is not yet the case. For this reason the Support Module for Management of Care Organisations is developed. The Module addresses those issues. The development from institutionalised care to de-institutionalised care has not led to inclusion of persons with a disability. In fact the de-concentration in smaller care units has often became a reflection of the ""old institute"". Person-centred care with a focus on Self-Directed-Support is an important priority coming from the Human Rights perspective and in line with the European Strategy and the Commission Notice on Independent Living and Inclusion in the society<< Objectives >>The objective is to develop a Support Module intended for staff and the management level of care organisations. Also that the Module contribute to the awareness that change is needed in the care provision, a paradigm shift from supply-oriented care to demand-oriented support care. Further that the Module can be used for training (future) managers in the care sector and also as an instrument to use in the process of transition<< Implementation >>The project started with the design of the Module, the try-out of the Module (testing the Module), evaluation, adaptation based on the input from the evaluation and second training with evaluation. Finalizing the Module with a Reader, Practical Manual for the training and Power Point for the training. Specific attention is given at a person-centred approach. As Annex is added a client-centred organisation self-assessment document, developed in Australia, and adapted for the care sector and can also be used by client-representatives.The implementation of the activities are different among partners. The Portugese partner has implemented the Module within their organisation to train new staff. In Mallorca the Module shall be used by managers for further developments. They have formed a strategic partnership among managers to work with. The activities form the Netherlands shall be brought under the Stichting European Institute for Development of Human Resources (EIHR) for promotion of the Module to the education sector. For promoting client-centred support care a platform shall be made for client/ client representatives. At Europan level a network for information exchange of organisations shall be established.<< Results >>The concrete result mentioned in the application is the Support Module for Managers of Care Organisations. The Module consists of a Reader, Practical Manual for the training and Power Point for the training. Extra is the client-centred organisation self-assessment document, which can be used by care organisatons for reflection and as an instrument for the development of client-centred care. This document can also be used by client representatives as a referal for client-centred care provision"
