<< Background >>Language learning difficulties go on worldwide, despite all developing technologies. In addition to this, we were aware that although school education is evolving and transforming into different models, early school dropout was still not withdrawn to the rates we would like it to be. One of the 2020 EU targets stated that the rate of dropping out of school needed to be decreased from %15 to %10. Moreover, besides language learning, we saw that interest in cultural lessons such as art and literature was decreasing. There was a problem against literature and culture lessons worldwide. In particular, we believed theatre would help us understand someone else and allow the establishment of concepts such as respect, tolerance, and understanding in community life.We aimed to address needs by : • making the education enjoyable in order to prevent dropping out of school early,• interaction of partners (increased with theatre and other tools).• facilitating foreign language learning.• strengthening intercultural information exchangeTheatre education helped participants understand and empathize with others, eliminated prejudices against other cultures, changed the perspective of different cultures and ensured cultural interaction.<< Objectives >>Our Main Objectives : 1) for students :-introduction to literary works that make up the memory and cultures of the world and internalize the social structures and cultures (inclusion and diversity).-preventing early school dropout and facilitating language learning by making our education more enjoyable with drama and theatre (tackling learning disadvantages & early school leaving).-discovering individual talents and developing self-confidence with drama and theatre training.-improving English skills via dramatisation of the plays in English (priority language learning & teaching).2) for families :-strengthening the family-child relationship with theatre plays that students performed.-creating a perspective towards art on adults, expanding their intellectual knowledge.3) for teachers :-making literature lessons and also English lessons more fun through theatre (strengthening the profiles of the teaching professions, language learning & teaching).-understanding that permanent learning can be achieved with different methods and techniques.-observing other educational methodologies in project partners (strengthening the profiles of the teachers).-improving foreign language practice.<< Implementation >>There were 4 mobilities in our project including at least 50 students (more than initially forecast), 8 teachers in charge (two per country) and approximately 16 other helping teachers. In every mobility, students staged a play from their country in which they introduced their culture and literature to their guests. During the last mobility in Spain, all the participating students staged an international play. The play was decided during one of the previous mobilities and was adapted into theatre by the Turkish partner according to the number and gender of students participating. We worked out together the international play to choose the charaters and create the settings, we discussed the way the students, who were mixed in international groups, were going to act . All the students created their own costumes for the international play during the recycling & reusing workshop in Spain.During the mobilities seminars on cultures of the host countries were given.Different activities (like presentations, workshops, theatre games, visits, ...) were done to raise awareness about climate change and its bad effects.Story writing/telling activities, sports, games, cultural visits were organised in international-English-speaking groups.<< Results >>With this project we :Fostered awareness of climate change through activities.Increased environmental consciousness of students and teachers.Improved their L2 competences like reading, listening and speaking.Increased students'ability to express themselves both in L1 and L2.Increased acting skills.Enhanced digital capacity of both teachers and students.Increased self-confidence of students.Improved the creativity of the students by creating new stories and by stimulating them.Reduced early school leaving by increasing key competences.Discovered similarities among partners Built strong ties with partners via cooperation.Eliminated prejudices and misbelieves on different cultures, including immigrants.Increased literature awareness and consciousness about other cultures, religions, people.Enhanced the professional skills of teachers via class observations and teachers discussions.Increased the inclusion of immigrants and students with learning disadvantages. As concrete outputs we have a website, e-twinning, reports, leaflets, social media accounts (both Instagram and Facebook).
