Numeric[All]; Gamified museum methodologies towards the acquisition of numeracy, literacy and transversal skills for illiterate adults

<< Background >>Numeric[All] was a transformative project, laser-focused on addressing the pressing needs of low-skilled individuals. Its mission was to revolutionize adult education by creating gamified, non-formal mathematical tools, essentially a mobile museum, to uplift illiterate adults. In response to the EU's 2018 framework, Numeric[All] aimed to equip adults with key competences like literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, essential for employment and social cohesion. This consortium, consisting of CIP Citizens in Power, LogoPsyCom, MMACA, AKMI, and Ludus, harnessed the power of 3D mathematical exhibits to make learning accessible, simplifying language and providing clear visuals. Equally impactful, Numeric[All] empowered educators and institutions to create tailored 3D materials independently. This initiative sparked significant improvements in numeracy, literacy, and overall quality of life for adults, fostering self-reliance, social inclusion, employability, and advanced competences like problem-solving and critical thinking. In a technology-driven world, Numeric[All] skillfully integrated digital education, ensuring a motivating and engaging learning experience.<< Objectives >>The Numeric[All] project had several key objectives that it successfully achieved during its implementation. It aimed to cultivate a culture of acquiring key competences and promoting innovation among illiterate adults. The project delivered on this objective by developing an innovative gamified, non-formal mathematical model, equipped with theoretical and practical methods that not only motivated adult trainers in NGOs but also encouraged their commitment to lifelong learning.Moreover, Numeric[All] contributed significantly to strengthening cooperation and fostering the exchange of information and best practices between diverse regions in Europe. This collaborative effort had a broader impact by supporting the development of the European Union as a knowledge-based society.Additionally, the project played a crucial role in creating relevant e-learning content for teaching and learning in local languages. Simultaneously, it facilitated the processes for curriculum integration and assessment by making this e-learning content available under open licensing. This approach ensured that the project's outcomes had a lasting and far-reaching impact on adult education and the acquisition of essential skills. << Implementation >>Throughout the Numeric[All] project, we executed a series of impactful activities that led to remarkable outcomes. We initiated the project with comprehensive surveys involving our target groups, enabling us to gain profound insights into the challenges faced by illiterate adults when integrating into social and labor markets. These insights formed the foundation of our research and content creation for the Methodological Guide. We also developed a dynamic project website, available in partner languages as well as English (EL, FR, ES, CA, PT). This platform served as a central hub for disseminating valuable information about our project and its progress, ensuring accessibility to a broader audience. In Cyprus, we conducted an intensive 6-day Pilot Testing Activity, involving two participants from each partner organization. This rigorous testing allowed us to refine and enhance the effectiveness of PR2 and PR3 derivatives, ensuring that our educational materials were finely tuned to meet the needs of our target groups. We further organized localized training sessions, focusing on the PR3 and PR4 content, benefiting both our target and indirect beneficiary groups. These sessions empowered individuals with essential skills for lifelong learning, contributing to their personal and professional development.Our Multiplier Event, E1: Final Conference, held in Nicosia, Cyprus, was a resounding success, drawing the participation of at least 45 attendees. This event showcased the project's outcomes and demonstrated its significant impact on adult education and skill development.Throughout the project's duration, we conducted four Transnational Partner Meetings and one unofficial meeting, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective project management. Citizens In Power(CIP), in collaboration with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission’s (CYSEC) and the CFA Society Cyprus, joined their forces and held a live interactive exhibition. A unique and engaging endeavour which aimed at integrating financial literacy concepts into interactive maths exhibits and workshops that were successfully executed. The event, which took place at the CYSEC premises from December 5th to December 7th, 2023, showcased 16 interactive exhibits and workshops designed to captivate audiences of all ages while imparting essential mathematical and financial knowledge. For three days, attendees immersed themselves in the world of mathematics and finance, exploring 3D exhibits through hands-on learning. The event testified to the power of partnership and the commitment to advancing numerical and financial literacy in Cyprus and beyond. Throughout the project's duration, we conducted four Transnational Partner Meetings and one unofficial meeting, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective project management. These meetings served as key milestones for exchanging ideas and driving the project forward.
