<< Background >>According to the European Mental Health Action Plan 2013-2020, the objective was to ensure equal mental well-being opportunities for all, especially the most vulnerable in terms of employment. Proposed actions included creating incentives for stress reduction, introducing well-being programs in the workplace, and enhancing stress management. The financial crisis of the past decade intensified work-related stress, resulting in disengagement among 63% of global employees, impacting productivity and well-being.Youth workers struggled to support young employees facing overwhelming responsibilities. Mindfulness training emerged as a solution, helping youth workers enhance well-being by reducing stress and improving task management. The Youthful project aimed to close the training gap for both Youth Workers and young employees, targeting these issues.<< Objectives >>The project aimed to support youth workers and equip them with the necessary knowledge and practices regarding Mindfulness, enabling them to help youth cope with work-related stress and improve their well-being and quality of life. This aim was achieved through the development of a curriculum for youth workers, which was embodied in a gamified platform (developed only partially due to premature termination of the project). C1 training session for youth workers was planned to be implemented in October 2023 , however it was not implemented due to premature termination of the project. The project's PRs (curriculum and gamified platform) served as the basis for the theoretical framework, while the C1 training would have provided practical knowledge of Mindfulness practices.<< Implementation >>The partnership consisted of a variety of organizations with expertise in different fields to ensure the diversity of voices and approaches. To equip youth workers with the necessary mindfulness knowledge, the project developed two Project Results (PR1: Educational Curriculum for Mindfulness Training of Youth Workers, PR2: Development of a Mindfulness app) NOTE: that third planned result based on evaluators recommendation was moved under management activities instead and not a separate PR (PR3: Coaching the coaches). NOTE that: Training Activity ( C1: JOINT STAFF TRAINING ACTIVITIES) was planned to happen in October 2023 but did not happen due to termination of the project. Simultaneously, dissemination activities were held in all partner countries to present the YOUTFUL project's Project Results (PR), ensured the project's spread and benefitted youth workers across various employability fields. These workers interacted daily with young people who experienced work-related stress. Given that research had indicated high work-related stress levels across European countries, the project aimed to mitigate this by implementing mindfulness practices and utilising guidance from project-trained youth workers. The partnership collaborated to ensure that in its final stage, the project would contribute to enhancing the overall well-being of young people in Europe by reducing their work-related stress. Additionally, dissemination activities, including planned Multiplier Events held in all partner countries to present the Youthful project's Project Results, aimed to spread the project's benefits to youth workers across different employability fields who dealt with work-related stress.RESULTS OF THE PROJECT: The project contributed to enhancing the Mindfulness approach among youth workers, enabling them to transmit it to young people facing work-related stress.PROJECT TANGIBLE RESULTS:Equipped youth workers with necessary knowledge (PR1) and skills to support youth in coping with work-related stress.Compiled mindfulness knowledge in the Mindfulness app (PR2) through video sections and guided meditations.Implemented Coaching the Coaches platform for youth workers to communicate mindfulness to youth and facilitate tailored matching between coaches and youth workers, which was implemented as part of the project management based on the decision of project evaluators from granting agency.Produced additional tangible results, including dissemination activities in partner countries and concrete materials to support project management, evaluation, impact, and dissemination activities.PROJECT INTANGIBLE RESULTS:Empowered youth workers to manage their stress effectively.Instilled a comprehensive mindfulness mindset in youth workers.Provided necessary support to empower youth workers to assist youth in handling workplace responsibilities resiliently, thereby improving overall well-being.
