"<< Background >>The R.E.P.O.W.E.R. project addresses the pressing issue of climate change by promoting sustainable behaviors. It aims to cultivate an eco-conscious generation through a multidisciplinary school curriculum that fosters respect for the environment. By studying the environment across different seasons and regions, students and teachers will gain a deeper understanding of human-nature interactions and the importance of ecological balance. The project consists of five ""smart"" actions:Smart Gardening: Exploring the relationship between plants and climate through lessons and visits to parks and gardens.Creating a tree-ebook and building a vertical garden.Smart Energy: Investigating sustainable energy sources and usage.Building a 3D eco-farmSmart Shopping: Promoting recycling, e-commerce, and sustainable production. Creating an online shop (Presta Shop)Smart Eating: Focusing on the production of organic food for human well-being.Smart Thinking: Analyzing project results and evaluating each phase.Through these actions, students will not only develop a keen awareness of climate change but also gain valuable digital, linguistic, social, cultural, and practical skills, empowering them to become responsible global citizens of the future<< Objectives >>Our project aims to cultivate generations of environmentally conscious and active young people. We aim to achieve the following concrete results: establishing and nurturing green areas, promoting waste reduction and recycling practices, encouraging the production and consumption of local organic food, implementing energy conservation measures, and addressing pollution issues. By using English as a common language and developing relevant and innovative digital and environmental skills, participants between 10 and 16 have become true agents of change. The outcomes have been remarkable, they have created vertical gardens and interactive digital maps with QR codes to explore biodiversity across five countries; they have designed virtual 3D eco-farms and created illustrated dictionaries on sustainability; they have produced presentations on energy conservation and established online stores to sell their recycled products, developing entrepreneurial and digital skill; They have cultivated school gardens and experimented with local food recipes, promoting healthy and sustainable eating. These activities have not only been enjoyable but have also equipped students with essential skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, creativity<< Implementation >>The project commenced with a preparatory phase in each participating institution. Guided by science teachers, students delved into research on their region's environmental status, plant species, and the relationship between vegetation and climate. A subsequent mobility period within Italy saw students collaborating to create a comprehensive vegetation map, interactive e-book, eye-catching digital posters, and an innovative vertical garden from recycled materials. In the following phase, students contributed to the creation of a 3D farm, with components assembled in Lithuania. They explored the nterplay between climate change, environment, and sustainable energy usage. The journey to Poland, marked by the creative production of handmade Christmas decorations using recycled materials, led to the development of a virtual shop on a platform for students to simulate real-world commerce by buying and selling their handmade crafts. During their mobility in Turkey, students embraced sustainable culinary practices, growing vegetables and cooking eco-friendly meals with locally sourced ingredients and setting up an international food festival. Finally inGreece, students reflected upon the project's outcomes and synthesized their learning.<< Results >>Students have gained a deep understanding of the complex interplay between human activities, climate change, and the environment. Through a multifaceted approach, they have explored these connections. This included: conducting in-depth research, creating tangible products from recycled and sustainable materials, designing digital content, and engaging in mobility experiences that exposed them to diverse environmental contexts. The project culminated in a thorough analysis of the outcomes, identifying both the strengths and shortcomings of the various stages. Additionally, students were tasked with developing dissemination strategies to share their findings with a wider audience. Throughout the project, a playful and engaging learning environment was fostered, and English served as a unifying language, enabling students to enhance their language skills and, in many cases, achieve language certifications. The project has also provided professional development opportunities for teachers, who have strengthened their scientific knowledge in English, employing innovative teaching methodologies and cutting-edge technological tools. and providing a replicable model for other educational projects."
