"<< Background >>The main reason for applying for the project was the need for comprehensive and multifaceted environmental education and the development of lasting habits among project participants in the area of environmental care, such as reducing plastic use, saving energy and water, and practicing sustainable consumption. Awareness of personal responsibility for the natural environment was still too low among the participants. Their knowledge about the negative impact of human activity on climate change was insufficient. We wanted the students to learn about the EU's climate policy principles and understand the need to implement its goals. An important need was the exchange of good practices between partner schools. We wanted to encourage participants to reflect on the place and role of humans in the natural world and to increase their responsibility and engagement in this area. We saw the need for interdisciplinary environmental education, cooperation among teachers of different subjects (not just science), and the creation of teaching materials, as well as conducting lessons based on them and implementing projects that engage young people, such as 'Give Things a New Life.'<< Objectives >>The main goal of our activities was to raise ecological awareness among project participants, to acquire reliable knowledge to understand the causes and scale of negative climate changes, and the ways to counteract this process. Our aim was also to increase the sensitivity of young people to the uniqueness and beauty of the world by exploring interesting natural sites, which, in turn, would lead to greater individual responsibility for the state of the natural environment. We wanted to work on positively changing participants' preferences, for example, in terms of choosing ecological means of transport, adopting rational consumption habits that limit the purchase of material goods, or conserving the natural resources of our planet. We also aimed to increase participants' engagement in actions and campaigns for improving the state of the environment, including events such as ""World Cleanup Day,"" creating vegetable and flower gardens, and compiling herbariums. We wanted key initiatives, such as Stop Plastic, Fair Trade, Europe together for Africa, continued after the completion of the project and became a permanent part of the educational program of the partner schools.<< Implementation >>We have implemented 12 activities:1. The world as the most beautiful gift that man has received"" - a series of topics2. International meeting of partner schools in Belgium. Training, exchange and sharing of experiences in the field of sustainable development of EU policy and the actions of the European Parliament to combat the effects of climate change.3. Educational project: ""Climate change - facts and myths"".4. Development and implementation of an interdisciplinary educational program and creation of a platform of teaching materials.5. Project: ""Do what is necessary and possible to improve the condition of the environment in your surroundings"". Diagnosis of the level of ecological culture at school and in the local environment. Recovery program for schools.6. International meeting of partner schools in Portugal. Can we stop the process of global warming and how?7. Project: ""What happens to waste? Stop plastic."" 8. Project: Can I buy with the good of man in mind - Fair trade and the environment? 9. Project UPCYCLING, or we give things a second life. 10. Project: ""Europe together for Africa"" 11. Project: ""Change begins with action - we clean and beautify the world in spring."" 12. International meeting of partner sch<< Results >>The level of knowledge, ecological awareness, and habits among project participants increased, as confirmed by survey research. This is the result of implementing various ecology-related topics in lessons across different subjects, based on scenarios written by teachers, as well as students' participation in lectures, sessions, and workshops conducted by specialists and ecologists. The implementation of the ecological program has led to closer collaboration among teachers from different subjects in organizing projects such as 'Bio-snack' - Poland, 'Miss Upcycling' - Romania, 'Upcycling Meets Art' - Germany, and 'Eco Play Day' - Italy, through which participants acquired culinary and DIY skills. These activities encouraged participants to beautify schoolyards by planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, creating vegetable and herb gardens, and green corners inside the buildings. With the support of the teaching staff, students carried out projects inspired by Erasmus+ themes, achieving success in competitions, funds were allocated for a bicycle parking lot or a modern biology laboratory. The result of 'Europe Together for Africa' was the transfer of approximately 3,000 euros to the accounts of foundations working for Africa."
