Promoting Well-being and Mental Health for Basic Education Pupils and Teachers through Innovative Prevention and Intervention Programs for Primary Schools

<< Objectives >>PROWELL is seeking to help make success possible for all learners by developing, piloting and promoting intervention and prevention programs for primary schools to tackle learned helplessness among basic education and SEN pupils. The project is also aimed at supporting the CPD of teaching and non-teaching staff and enhancing the well-being and mental health of basic education pupils in Slovakia, Czechia and Spain.<< Implementation >>To achieve the objectives, we will join forces with publishing houses, universities and primary schools to assess pupils and school staff well-being and inclusion practices, co-create a set of programs and resources, pilot the core outputs among 40 teachers and non-teaching staff and 160 basic education pupils, promote the project achievements and the benefits from applying a whole school approach to tackling learned helplessness.<< Results >>The project will elaborate a bespoke PROWELL approach (evidence basis, 2 programs, resources for pupils, OER platform), result in enhancing the competences of 40 teaching an non-teaching staff members and improve the well-being and mental health of pupils in Slovakia, Czechia and Spain. This will ultimately lead to tackling learning disadvantage, early school leaving and low proficiency in basic skills, as well as creating inclusive environments fostering equality and equity.
