<< Background >>The project was addressed to following needs: 1. A NEED FOR INNOVATIVE EDUCATION PRACTICES IN PANDEMIC PERIODS The world threatened by theglobal covid-19 pandemic shew the importance of digital forms of teaching. Successful digitization in education requires courses and trainings providing high quality education with verifiable information based on scientific knowledge. MOOCs prepared by specialized professional groups composed of experts and education specialists, they meet high requirements for the teaching of high quality. 2. A NEED FOR SUSTAINABLE APPROACH IN ALL INDUSTRIAL SECTORS IMPORTANT FOR THE EU ECONOMY The understanding of the potential environmental impacts and overall sustainable approach is a part of the strategy in the Automotive/mobility ecosystem. The automotive industry is committed to environmental goals, including carbon neutrality by 2050.3.A NEED FOR UP/RE SKILLING ACTIVITIES OF WORKERS IN AUTOMOTIVE The shift to green mobility, rapid technological development causes the unprecedent transformation of the Automotive Industry and overall ecosystem restructuralization. This results in the need for massive support of up-/re-skilling activities of current and future workforce.<< Objectives >>The consortium aLIFEca wanted to achieve:- To prepare an innovative MOOC course (MOOC aLIFEca) with practical examples, covering the area of sustainable approach in Automotive industry, including Life Cycle Assessment which training content structure and skills coverage would be based on the identified needs from the strategic DRIVES project and further consulted in details with sectoral stakeholders to understand the latest skill needs and specific requirements in Automotive. The training structure would follow highest quality standards and have massive impact on target groups because during the project duration in the pilot phase the course was moderated in order to have direct contact with pilot participants and multiply the impact and also gather further feedback. - To widely spread the MOOC aLIFEca to be available free of charge to everybody interested for MOOC courses and offer innovative and interactive training course delivery. To share directly to Automotive Skills Alliance partnership as Pact for Skills for Automotive-Mobility Sector. - To map the MOOC aLIFEca to EU-wide database of training and education courses offered towards Automotive Ecosystem.<< Implementation >>The project results were successfully produced thanks to implementation of following activities MOOC Training - 18th – 20th October, 2022, organised by SPIN 360 in BASE Milano (Buro Project House) in Milan for the project consortium to review aLIFEca MOOC concept and be trained on aLIFEca MOOC trial. The chapters 1 -5 were piloted, best practice on training development was shared and interactive materials were created. National MOOC Workshops – national workshops arranged in the Czech Republic on 7/11/2022 at VSB-Technical University of Ostrava,in Italy 25/1/2023 at ITS Maker in Fornovo di Taro, Slovakia 23/11/2022 at Technical Secondary School of Transport in Martin, Poland 1/12/2022 at Technical School of Mechanics – Electrical of Nikola Tesla in Chorzów to promote the project, present trial version of MOOC aLIFEca to the target group in its wide range and have feedback on it.The workshops were divided into three parts. 1. project, its result, theoretical background on LCA methodology and sustainability. 2. MOOC aLIFEca trial, its structure, chapters and certification framework. 3. interactive examples/ games focused on principles LCA (1. oil life cycle, 2, Impact categories). aLIFEca Webinar – an on-line event in English organised via MS Teams on 13/6/2023 to catch international attention on MOOC aLIFEca and promote the results of aLIFEca project. The aim of the webinar was to introduce the MOOC aLIFEca to participants from European countries. The webinar was interactive including participants’ discussion in the chat. 30 on-line participants from other institutions took part in it. The webinar was divided into 3 parts:1. project, MOOC aLIFEca and basic terminology on Life Cycle Assessment was presented. 2. Presentation of associated project partners (ACEA, ASA) dealing with automotive perspective and skills agenda in the automotive ecosystem. 3. case studies on LCA in Automotive. The LCA analysis in MOOC alIFEca were introduced together with lectures of invited experts: LCA tool Green NCAP for cars, travel planner of learning pro-ecological behaviour of travellers and LCA of biofuels of passenger cars.aLIFEca Final Conference – final conference to present MOOC aLIFEca and open discussion on green automotive, its sustainability and life cycle in automotive was held in the room of Newton University in Prague Congress Centre on 17/10/2023. The event concluded the implementation of project aLIFEca and the final version of MOOC aLIFEca: Virtual Open Online Course on Automotive Life Cycle Assessment was presented to the wide international audience including academia, companies, association, students and experts. The programme of conference included presentation of the project, MOOC aLIFEca and topic of LCA in automotive. Associated project partners (ACEA, ASA) presented their lectures on-line. The invited lectures on hydrogen mobility, electromobility and biofuel vehicles were also on the programme. Its programme was concluded by Round Table in which the green mobility, application of LCA in automotive and training MOOC aLIFEca was discussed featuring invited speakers – Simona Jursova from side of the project consortium, Daniel Minarik from side of Moravian-Silesian Hydrogen Cluster and Przemyslaw Bukowski from side of academia sphere presenting Wroclaw University of Life and Environmental Sciences. The conference went on with informal discussion at social dinner.<< Results >>There were defined two main Project Results (PR1, PR2) including several outcomes which had to be accomplished:PR1- aLIFEca guide: A guide for MOOC aLIFEce on the requirements of stakeholders for the course and occasions, opportunities for the course specialization to define the structure of the course to reflect the growing need for professionals able to be effectively oriented in up-to date green transport technologies. The guide presents a combination of experiential learning, skills and competence building, while each learning area is focused onsustainable and environmental considered mindset in automotive. The guide was divided into two following outcomes:PR 1.1 Study on requirements LCA/Job roles (Needs analysis and research) PR 1.2 Training structure and materials (Design of course and trainings) The part of training materials were divided into several thematic packages with sustainable and LCA topics. The responsibility for the preparation of packages was determined according to the partners expertise.PR2- MOOC aLIFEca: The MOOC focused on sustainable approach in Automotive, including Life Cycle Assessment was created by European consortium based on the requirements of the European automotive market. Special attention was paid to case studies on LCA in new cutting - edge technologies in automotive. The MOOC was in English and partners languages, self-paced and cross referred to aLIFEca guide. The created course was free of charge. The certification framework including certificate and digital badge as recognition of skills levels achievement was created. The course was mapped to EU-wide database of training and education towards Automotive Eco-system. It was shared directly to Automotive Skills Alliance partnership as Pact for Skills for Automotive -Mobility Sector - covering the whole Europe. The MOOC aLIFEca is available on Learning Platform https://learn.skills-framework.eu/ and Skills Hub https://skills-framework.eu/home. The MOOC implementation was divided into 3 following outcomes: PR 2.1 MOOC Design and Development(Testing, Trial phase, Evaluation, MOOC upgrade) PR 2.2 Certification framework/Digital badge PR 2.3 Mapping of the MOOC aLIFEca OTHERS - MOOC Training: The MOOC Training organized by Spin 360 with aim to share the know-how and best practice among project staff working on MOOC aLIFEca development. The staff cooperated on the MOOC development and simulating the target group tested the MOOC aLIFEca Trial. The MOOC aLIFEca was considered from different perspectives of various professionals. - National MOOC Workshops: The course was tested and moderated during pilot National MOOC Workshops organized by each consortium partner to have direct contact with a pilot target group and have an immediate feedback. The target groups feedback on the MOOC aLIFEca trial was reflected to tailor the MOOC aLIFEca precisely to the target groups preferences. It was also aimed on the recruitment the new participants for the MOOC aLIFEca. The working language was the national language of the respective country. - Final MOOC Conference: At the end of the project, the final conference was arranged to promote the results of the aLIFEca project after accomplishment of the project implementation and trainings evaluation.The project results were implemented in 3 phases:1. PHASE of COURSE PREPARATION - analysis of automotive labour market requirements, design of course structure and materials development, on-line material development, creation of interactive examples, MOOC evaluation and upgrade 2. PHASE of TRAINING and LEARNING - training of the consortium on MOOC aLIFEca, arrangement of National MOOC Workshops to pilot the MOOC, webinar and conference to present MOOC to international audiance to be international and exceptional providing feedback of the target group on MOOC3. PHASE of COURSE CERTIFICATION and MAPPING - framework for aLIFEca MOOC certification, the course mapping into Learning Platform and Skills Hub.The activities were accompanied by project results dissemination (project web, LInkedIN and FB) and project meetings (5 on-site and 12 on-line).
