<< Background >>Tandem Plus applied for the YouthIES project to further its mission of promoting the social, political and economic inclusion of disadvantaged young people in 14 EU countries. Recognising the pervasive problems of social exclusion and poverty, Tandem Plus sought to draw on the diverse expertise of its network in the economic, political and educational fields to develop innovative cross-regional policies. By promoting multi-faceted partnerships, Tandem Plus has sought to strengthen social cohesion and employment opportunities, filling gaps in youth empowerment and community integration. The project is part of Tandem Plus' commitment to sharing best practice and creating effective socio-economic initiatives on a European scale.<< Objectives >>First, to encourage active eco-citizenship among young people through digital storytelling and design thinking, promoting social entrepreneurship and climate innovation at community level (O1). Second, to improve the quality of young people's work by equipping them with digital storytelling and design thinking skills to address environmental issues such as degradation, habitat reduction, deforestation, soil erosion and water pollution (O2). Third, facilitate cross-sectoral and transnational collaboration to support youth-led community initiatives to address local environmental challenges (O3). Finally, to use participatory action research methodology through a stakeholder monitoring group to ensure inclusive project design and development (O4). Using a participatory action research approach, the project engaged a group of stakeholders to co-create tools and activities, ensuring that they were inclusive, effective and sustainable for diverse communities and sectors.<< Implementation >>To achieve our objectives, we have implemented the following activities:-We set up a monitoring committee to ensure a participatory approach,- Positioning workshops: organised in partner countries with the participation of youth workers, municipal representatives and young people to align project objectives and identify key environmental issues;-VlogBox YouthIES with 13 digital storytelling videos covering environmental issues,An extensive e-toolkit has been compiled, offering 50 resources in the form of a comprehensive guide for young people;- A training kit for youth workers: includes modules on YouthIES VlogBox, Design Thinking, community interventions, social entrepreneurship and digital storytelling, in 6 languages.- We have developed an eToolkit of open resources: 50 resources for youth-led projects, adaptable to local contexts;- Multilingual online platform-Steering the YouthIES training dossier with a panel of stakeholders-6 hackathons and 6 community youth events- A social media campaign.<< Results >>R1: Stakeholder Monitoring CommitteeR2: A VlogBox consisting of 13 digital videos produced in collaboration with climate practitioners and subtitled in 6 languagesR3: A training kit for youth workers: It includes modules on the YouthIES VlogBox, Design Thinking, community interventions, social entrepreneurship, and digital storytelling, available in 6 languagesR4: A website in 6 languages: https://youthies.eu/R5: A multilingual online interactive platform in 6 languages to host all YouthIES outputs: https://platform.youthies.eu/R6: 6 positioning workshops involving youth workers, municipal representatives, and young peopleR7: 6 national Enviro-HackathonsR8: 6 national virtual contests with 30 videos created by young people for the YouthIES VlogBoxR9: 6 community youth interventionsR10: A social media campaign reaching over 218,000 peopleR11: Participation of 13 associated partners, including communities, municipalities, and youth associations
