Empowerment of women at risk of exclusion through coaching, Emotional Intelligence, physical activity and corporal expression

<< Background >>Women and men have access to equal rights in the European Union, as one of the fundamental principles of the European Union. But, do they have equal access to opportunities, both professional and personal (in terms of well being)? This is a rhetorical question that different inclusion policies try to address and we have set up this project with the confidence that a transnational programme for well being for the women at risk of exclusion is necessary and has to be part of this larger strategy of making women feel better with the complicated and challenging lives they have to be ready for in the contemporary world. Before setting up the project we have conducted consultations with our partners on the possibility of creating a programme for emotional intelligence and well being for women at risk at exclusion, given our expertize in sports, movement as well as cultural interventions in rural areas. We knew from practice that women from the country side, from the working class, as well as from poor neighborhoods in our countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Italy face a lot of problems and have little time and knowledge on ways of accessing a state of well being that leads to their empowerment. << Objectives >>We started the project with a set objectives that have managed to achieve: 1.To improve the emotional and psychological health of women at risk of exclusion and belonging to disadvantaged groups, empowering them and increasing their self-esteem and self-concept through coaching, emotional intelligence, physical activity and corporal expression and we achieved this objective with a group of 150 women over the course of two year, through the development of 3 sets of resources (project results).2. To support emotional management, to develop their ability to manage emotions and introduce new habits into their lives that reinforce their self-confidence and self-esteem through the intervention of specialists that work with women at risk of exclusion - we managed to engage in the process a number of over 50 specialists of the field of cultural intervention and movement. 3. To develop coaching solution, to create an action plan to help them apply their new emotional management skills through medium and long-term objectives. We have developed 3 sets of materials: podcasts (training system), videos (case studies) and a toolkit with activities that can be accessed by women with or without the mediation of specialists.<< Implementation >>We have conducted several types of activities in the project 1. Research activities- we have conducted reserches in the field of emotional intelligence of women at risk of exclusion and we have identified the common difficulties that appear in the activities of the adult educators that work with these women. 2. Development of project results and resources for the project has been another activity that has brought together the specialists of our organizations together with other professionals working with women at risk of exclusion. 3. Testing activities- we have organized physical and online testing activities that are aimed at identifying the functionalities of the project results and which helped at improving the project results. 4. Management activities consisted of constant collaboration between the partners as well as regular meetings either online or physical in the context of the transnational meetings. 5. Promotional activities and dissemination activities: - we have promoted the project through Facebook posts on a Facebook page and Facebook group as well as through newsletters. We have also focused on the dissemination of the project through local events as well as through the larger multiplier events.<< Results >>TANGIBLE RESULTS:- PR1: Audio manual in coaching and emotional intelligence skills for professionals on physical activity and body expression/artistic/sports. - PR2: Videos with real cases of body expression/art/sports instructors, where they explain their experiences with women included in the target group, what their needs are and how this kind of practices can help them. - PR3: Training system with a set of 30 practical tools on how to put into practice everything explained in the manual for trainers (PR1) by implementing coaching and emotional intelligence techniques in their sessions - In the Multiplier Events (E1-E6) the project consortium will celebrate workshops in order to ensure the sustainability of the project results beyond the project partnership and project’ lifetime. RESULTS RELATED TO MANAGEMENT - 4 transnational meetings + meeting minutes. and 4 intermediate online meetings RESULTS RELATED TO QUALITY AND EVALUATION - Evaluation tools: meetings evaluation questionnaire, project progress questionnaire, Project Results evaluation tools and multiplier events evaluation questionnaire. - Evaluation Reports: mid-term and final evaluation report RESULTS RELATED TO PROMOTION - Project graphic design; -Social networks profiles; - Project website; - Newsletters;INTANGIBLE DIRECT RESULTS: - Developed knowledge and skills of monitors and professionals devoted to physical exercise or corporal expression in testing project outputs on how to manage their emotions. - Increased awareness of the need to manage women's emotions in their day by day. ADDITIONAL OUTCOMES FOR PARTNERS: - Increased capacity of partners and associated partners through expanded offer of their organizations with free solutions available to customers and recipients; - On the basis of international cooperation among diverse partners, experience exchange, and mutual learning, partners' experience and potential have been developed. - Partner collaboration was strengthened.
