<< Background >>The project aimed to provide seniors with access to education through freely available e-learning courses, overcoming geographic, health, financial, and time constraints. Both partner organizations are dedicated to senior education and promoting awareness of active aging. We offer seniors valuable tools to support active and fulfilling aging. While stereotypes often portray seniors as inactive and mental health is frequently overlooked, our experience shows a strong desire among seniors to engage in learning and to take care of their health. Our goal is to empower seniors by strengthening their position in society, encouraging them to learn new things, and enhancing their independence, thus enabling them to lead an active and fulfilling retirement. This project not only raises awareness about active aging and the benefits of online learning but also expands our expertise in developing asynchronous education, allowing us to improve our educational offer for seniors.<< Objectives >>The project involved two organizations from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, both dedicated to senior education. Its primary objective was to promote digital inclusion for seniors by enhancing their access to quality educational opportunities, while also fostering the development of skills and facilitating the exchange of knowledge between the partner organizations.<< Implementation >>As part of the project, we created four e-learning courses with interactive elements in areas that are relevant for seniors (critical thinking, supporting seniors as volunteer lecturers or facilitators, cognitive health, and effective foreign language learning). These courses are available on the e-learning platform elbot.cz. In addition, we held two transnational meetings, including a roundtable focused on media literacy for older adults with the participation of pro-senior organizations, and a workshop for teachers from the partner organization on motivating students. These partner meetings facilitated the exchange of know-how and experiences in senior education and community building, working with teacher teams, and especially e-learning development and asynchronous learning. The goal of the dissemination was to raise awareness about the project and online learning opportunities for seniors. We extended these activities not only to seniors but also to organizations and individuals working with seniors.<< Results >>Four e-learning courses have been created and are available on the platform elbot.cz. The course topics include: critical thinking, becoming a creator (supporting seniors as volunteer lecturers), cognitive health, and effective foreign language learning. The courses feature interactive elements and worksheets. The project has contributed to increasing digital literacy and knowledge in the course topics, as well as strengthening confidence in using online tools and platforms. The courses have attracted high traffic, indicating strong interest from seniors in these subjects.Several events were organized as part of the project, including workshops, lectures, and an international webinar, which raised awareness about the project and the platform. These events were held in various regions of Slovakia and the Czech Republic, helping to reach a wider target audience. The project also fostered collaboration with libraries and pro-senior organizations, which expressed interest in continuing educational activities for seniors even after the project ends. The partners gained valuable knowledge and experience in creating e-learning courses, while also improving their skills in project coordination.
