<< Background >>The diagnosis prior to the development of the project highlighted three important points:1. Low exposure of students to international opennessThe students of the school, located in a disadvantaged neighborhood, very rarely have the opportunity to discover other European countries, contacts with foreign classmates are still an exception for them.2. Difficult investment in school learningThe students are for the most part distant from school culture; they do not always find meaning in what they learn and learning the English language sometimes seems devoid of interest.3. A fragile link between families and the schoolFor the students, the project has produced real and tangible motivation in the area of ​​​​the practice of English but also in well-being at school with the development of exchanges that modify usual practices, in particular those of cooperation.The Lentini establishment welcomes students of whom 40% are from disadvantaged social backgrounds for Alba Iulia and Gdansk 15%, that of Valognes welcomes 39% of students from working class/inactive parents and of whom only 45% enter a general second year.<< Objectives >>For students:- Invest in their school in all its dimensions so that it is a place of learning and a civic aim.Expected results: students will be able to talk to their European classmates about their school and present theinformation collected on how the school works, the rules of life at school, the school's missions and its values, the missions of the staff.- Learn to know their territory and its riches to present it to European classmates with different media(videos, exhibitions, drawings, texts, interviews, etc.)--> students will be able to discuss their territories (geography, economy, populations,remarkable and official places, issues of the territory, etc.), which will allow them to put into action the skills related tointerculturality.- Start practicing a foreign language to communicate and interact with European classmates.--> Students will thus be more comfortable in practicing oral language and more motivated in learninglanguages. And then encourage teaching teams and local authorities to get involved in European projects.<< Implementation >>The Hera project was first organized around the 5 European cultural themes programmed to develop European citizenship by studying strong symbols for each country: A typical dish (gastronomy), A famous song (song), a traditional dance (dance), A recognized artist (art), a UNESCO listed monument (heritage) from each country. For this we implemented for each country 3 outgoing mobilities and one incoming, i.e. 16 mobilities in total including 4 incoming. Workshops in each school were set up for each mobility with the practice of dance, plastic arts, cooking, national anthems and emblematic song of the country and visits to national monuments. A reception at the town hall of each host city was held systematically highlighting the Erasmus project. We went beyond these 5 activities by carrying out creative actions in the digital domain: kahoot, video editing, Génially, Canva, app learning, jigsaw planet,... inclusive actions: game on diversity, poem illustrations, and ecological actions: recycling, carbon footprint, planting: https://nuage01.apps.education.fr/index.php/s/KQbgMQQ9EcT9pjf<< Results >>We produced a logo competition with the creation of a logo bearing our Hera project. A multilingual dictionary English, French, Romanian, Polish, Italian. A virtual museum emaze collage Prévert, an escape game HERA, book creator recipe of pancakes and illustration of poems, a book of good practices written in Romanian taking up the objectives of the Hera project with recipes in English and which will be entirely translated and printed to be distributed (production arrived at the end of the project see appendix), a game of cards Hera (memory) which served the 4 countries, a French Romanian file presenting simple formulas and presenting Normandy. In connection with the school college link an English survival kit and a tourist guide for Lentini because we made known to the college our Sicilian partners who set up the Erasmus Medusa project. We created a European fresco at the Valognes school which was inaugurated by the Town Hall and which was highlighted on the last mobility with all the partners and a knowledge market involving students and families.
