Tenants 4 Climate organising school - Fighting Climate Change by decarbonising buildings !

<< Objectives >>We will create the first european Tenants 4 Climate Organizing School which delivers innovative education for 20 organisers and tenants leaders in order to mobilise 800 tenants in 4 different countries to take individual and collective action towards housing decarbonisation. Other productions such as energy leaky home maps, legal and political framework resources as well as new engaging tools (vidéo, message design) will support organisers to maximise their mobilising impact.<< Implementation >>The training program includes 6 webinars, a 5-day face-to-face course in Brussels, and three reciprocal field visits with workshops and local conferences in Lyon, Prague and Berlin. Experts from the four countries will work together to collect databases or information on legal context regarding energy leaky. Trained organisers will produce inspiring videos on tenants' stories and doorknock thousands of apartments and get 800 tenants involved to demand retrofits and lower energy consumptions.<< Results >>At the end, the T4C school created will be able to pass on its content (methods, experiences, tools such as mapping) to participating organisations to support tenants winning retrofits in their homes. It also will to other tenant unions and groups in European countries, in order to involve the tenants movement more structurally in accelerating the renovation of the private rental housing stock. It will help EU to meet its targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector.
