"<< Background >>We applied for this project because it addresses some of the most urgent challenges in Europe, such as environmental sustainability, demographic change, and social inclusion. The goal is to promote a new business culture based on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee welfare, integrating economic, social, and environmental objectives. This approach not only improves corporate image but also boosts productivity, reduces absenteeism, and enhances business resilience, meeting the needs of the post-pandemic labor market. The needs were related to supporting companies in implementing effective CSR strategies and employee welfare plans. Labor shortages, dissatisfaction with working conditions, and the increasing focus on work-life balance demanded innovative solutions. Furthermore, many companies were unprepared to meet the needs of a diverse workforce, such as workers with disabilities and working mothers. Lastly, there was an urgent need to address environmental challenges with more sustainable business practices.<< Objectives >>The general objective of the project was to empower SME owners and managers to become promoters of a new business paradigm that harmonizes the economic goals of their companies with employee welfare and the social and environmental objectives of their territories. This approach aims to preserve environmental, social, and human heritage for current and future generations while improving employee well-being and enhancing sustainability and business resilience. This vision translated into two specific objectives:-Increase public awareness of the importance of adopting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee welfare strategies to foster social inclusion, environmental protection, and greater attractiveness of companies in the labor market.-Strengthen the skills of managers and business owners by providing practical tools to design and implement CSR and welfare strategies through a flexible training program tailored to territorial and business needs.<< Implementation >>The activities implemented in the project were:1.Project management: Technical and financial coordination, quality monitoring, and organization of Steering Committee meetings ensured efficient management and goal achievement. Monitoring tools, such as minutes and reports, were developed.2.Awareness raising campaign: Designed to highlight the importance of CSR and welfare plans. Workers, public authorities, and unemployed individuals were engaged through surveys (almost 60 per country) and interviews (almost 13) to identify territorial needs. The campaign, disseminated through social media and local networks, encouraged a cultural shift towards sustainable and inclusive business practices.3.Re-training and up-skilling: Developed and delivered an innovative and flexible training program for SME managers. Six webinars covered CSR strategies, tailored welfare plans, and digital tools, featuring interactive sessions like the ""World Café"" to facilitate experience sharing and best practices.4. Dissemination and exploitation: Online publication of webinars, press releases, and social media content. A final event in Ireland showcased the project results, promoting the broader adoption of best practices.<< Results >>The concrete results of the project include:1. Implementation of an awareness campaign: This increased public understanding of the importance of adopting a business paradigm centered on CSR and employee welfare. The campaign engaged key stakeholders and fostered dialogue about the cultural change needed in business practices.2. The program equipped SME managers and entrepreneurs with practical tools and skills to design effective CSR strategies and welfare plans, fostering greater social inclusion and business sustainability.3. Dissemination and exploitation campaign: This improved public awareness and adoption of business practices tailored to evolving social and environmental needs, reaching a wide audience through social media, webinars, and a final event. The project strengthened civic engagement of businesses, increased flexible learning opportunities for business leaders, and contributed to shared goals such as climate change mitigation, social inclusion, and the welfare of employees and communities."
