"<< Background >>Youth NetworNo Excuse Slovenia is a national organization operating in the public interest. It stands out for its unique set of values and its own competency models, collectively known as the ""No Excuse Method."" We aim to expand our most recognized program, Activists No Excuse, abroad to extend its benefits to as many young individuals as possible. The program, designed for youth aged 15 and 16, focuses on reducing health inequalities, raising awareness about health and environmental issues, and promoting active citizenship for sustainable development. Local units bring together young people committed to making positive changes in areas such as public health, youth inclusion, and sustainable development. Our program is based on the principle of ""criticize, propose, act,"" encouraging youth to engage in local initiatives to create positive change. We have received numerous awards, including recognition from UNESCO, which identified our Activists No Excuse program as a best practice in education for sustainable development. Through our project, we addressed the need to transfer the successful Activists program to other international environments and explored the needs of the youth sector, youth workers, and young people in the Balkan<< Objectives >>The purpose of the project was to explore the possibilities of expanding the Activists No Excuse program internationally, piloting the program abroad, and training youth workers in this field.Project objectives:Conducting an analysis of the situation and cultural differences among countries and the needs of young people.Adapting the Activists program and competency models for youth.Educating youth workers based on the competency model.Piloting the program in two foreign countries.Evaluating pilot implementations and adjustments for further implementation.Strengthening youth workers to change youth behavior.Connecting youth and workers to gather best practices and activate youth.Preparation of manuals for youth workers and young people.Development of peer workshops on tobacco and climate change.Development of local activist initiatives for health and sustainable development.Establishment of an international network of youth organizations.<< Implementation >>In the first part of the project, we focused on exploring cultural differences across different countries and analyzing necessary adaptations of the program based on the environment into which we aimed to transfer it. We addressed the needs of youth, youth workers, and the sector as a whole. In the second part, we worked on adapting the program based on the analysis of the situation and the needs of program implementers abroad. We conducted transnational meetings and two study visits. The program was then translated into English and served as the basis for translations into other languages. In the third part, we trained youth workers prepared according to identified needs. Additionally, we conducted another study visit in Slovenia for youth workers and leaders of partner organizations. Through tailored training for two groups of youth workers, we addressed challenges faced by youth and general inclusion in youth organizations. This served as preparation for piloting the program in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The training sessions were conducted in these countries. The fourth part of the project involved the pilot implementation of the program. The final phase involved evaluation and final conferences.<< Results >>In our project, we developed several useful tools that helped us successfully expand our program into foreign cultural environments. Key components of the project included analyses covering youth work, health, environment, and operations within our organization and the youth sector in the Balkans, serving as a basis for effectively transferring the program to new countries. The final product of the project was a handbook associated with our Activists No Excuse program, containing all essential information about the program, competency models for implementers, training schedules, and tips for successful implementation. The handbook was prepared in four languages: Slovenian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, and English.Through the project, we successfully transferred our recognized and award-winning program abroad, aiming to promote active youth involvement in health and sustainable development. Youth gained new skills and knowledge, and adjusted their habits in favor of healthy lifestyles, active citizenship, and environmental awareness. Participants influenced others in their local communities through diverse program activities such as peer workshops and local initiatives. Long-term expectations includea positive impact on youth programmes"
