EMPHASIS - Empowering HE through access to cooperation for Sustainable Practices and Energy Efficiency for all

The EMPHASIS project is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to revolutionize the landscape of Higher Education (HE) through the integration of innovative learning tools, digital platforms, and sustainable practices. Project brings together a consortium of leading academic institutions and industry partners from across Europe and the Western Balkans to foster a multidisciplinary approach to education in the fields of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.EMPHASIS focuses on developing an inclusive, forward-thinking higher education service of modules, that addresses the urgent need for skilled professionals in the green deal and energy sector. Through the creation of five comprehensive modules and 5 sub-modules for people with fewer opportunities, the project aims to equip HE staff and students with the knowledge and skills required to navigate and lead in the transition towards a more sustainable future.The foundational work paves the way for the development of the EMPHASIS Innovative Hybrid Lab Modules, which are then rigorously pilot-tested and accredited according to European Qualifications Framework (EQF) standards. To complement these efforts, a digital platform featuring virtual and augmented reality and problem-based learning, components will be launched to provide an immersive learning environment. The platform and thus the Innovative Lab will all be designed to include people with fewer opportunities, as well as ensure gender equality.Key to the project's success is its commitment to inclusivity and sustainability. Through targeted training sessions and strategic dissemination efforts, EMPHASIS aims to reach a wide audience, including those with fewer opportunities and from diverse backgrounds. By fostering cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange within the EU and Western Balkans, the project not only aims to enhance the quality and relevance of HE but also to inspire a new generation of ''green'' professionals.
