YOUth and EU coming together

"<< Background >>This project arised as a means of communication and bringing young people closer to European affairs and their participation in political life. Therefore, there was a scenario where the needs of young people to know the opportunities for training, mobility, employability and participation offered by the European Union were highlighted, so there was an opportunity for the development of actions at this time of growth of youth interest in these issues. The project ""YOUth and EU coming together"" aimed to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy, thus connecting the EU to young people, promoting gender equality, fostering information and constructive dialogue and opening up spaces for participation for all. Finally, it emerged as a means to meet the needs of improving employability and reducing youth unemployment. The needs that we cover with the YOU&EU project are varied, starting with promoting youth participation in politics at European level, as well as promoting participation in the European elections of 2024 due to the existing misinformation in these aspects. << Objectives >>With the implementation of the project we aimed to meet the current needs in terms of improving youth employability and reducing youth unemployment. On the other hand, the project ""YOUth and EU coming together"", aimed to contribute to the objectives presented by the European Union, such as connecting the EU to young people, promoting gender equality, promoting information and opening spaces of participation for all. << Implementation >>The activities were carried out in the countries of the organisations involved in the project, as this is required by a smallscale Partnership. Four activities were carried out and are briefly detailed below: Activity 1. What about EU? - Carried out in Frankfurt, its main objective was to lay the foundations to reverse the existing situation of lack of basic knowledge about the EU and its actions in the different areas that affect young people. Activity 2. Opportunities at EU - Carried out in Benaguasil, its main activity was to exchange experiences and good practices and to put on the table all the existing opportunities, at the same time, to debate with young people about the main channels to transmit this information. Activity 3. Taking part at EU - Held in Brussels, its main objective was to facilitate and promote the participation of young people in political life in general and, in particular, at European level. Activity 4. Presentation of the guide - Carried out in Brussels, its main objective was, through a round table, to fine-tune the guide and its subsequent presentation in a public and official way, thanks to the debates that took place there. << Results >>As a result of the project we have created an online guide in English, French, Spanish and German, with opportunities, recommendations and good practices so that young Europeans can learn about them. In addition, this guide is starting to be disseminated among youth associations, municipalities, universities, institutions and other entities in the youth field so that they can apply all the knowledge and information in the guide to the young people in their environment. On the other hand, another result of the project was to bring the participating institutions closer to each other and to the young people, who also formed their own networks. This relationship between institutions also led to a new consortium between companies, which previously had no relationship whatsoever. However, it is worth mentioning other results obtained thanks to the project, such as bringing institutions closer to each other by creating new links and consortia between companies at international level. On the other hand, it is worth mentioning the importance of the relationships between young people created thanks to YOU&EU, where young people will have a long-lasting cultural exchange."
