<< Background >>The idea of SeniorForm Project arose as a result of voluntary work at nursing homes. It was clear that the nursing staff lacked a digital tool to initiate exercise activities for the residents. There are more and more elderly and care-requiring citizens in the EU. Therefore, solutions are needed which can relieve the care staff. SeniorForm can do it: A digital tool where you just have to press a button to be able to start exercise activities for nursing home residents.SeniorForm is a collection of online videoes in which the exercises are shown. The exercises themselves are designed by health personnel: Physio and occupational therapist, activity worker, nurse and social worker. SeniorForm has proven its strength, value and viability since 2021 in Denmark. It is now thanks to the Erasmus+ funding also available in Estonian and in English: https://www.seniorform.euIt is free for all to sign up for a Seniorform account. We emphasize:- Joy of movement. Exercising should be fun.- It should be easy to hear and see.- It must be easy to start.<< Objectives >>The project was tested by a number of students in connection with their internship. Through the collaboration with the sosu schools, Valga, Estonia and SosuNord, Denmark, we thus uncovered the users' first-hand impressions. The goal was to gain insight into the user experience, to get ideas for new exercises, to uncover which target groups have a special need in exercise and activities, and to get feedback from the students, residents, permanent staff and the nursing home manager. We wanted to improve Seniorform in general: Adjusting the exercises and the usability and accessibility of the user interface of Seniorform. Not least did we want to translate, adapt and create Seniorform in other Europian Union languages - Estonian and English.<< Implementation >>We defined the project management team, established roles, and held regular meetings for smooth coordination. A communication strategy was developed, including videos on SeniorForm's application in nursing homes, published on YouTube, Facebook, and the project homepage. Two local events in Denmark and Estonia successfully disseminated project results. Estonian documentary from the event (29 minutes): https://youtu.be/K5ATbpKfZswAt the multiplier event in Denmark, we connected with decision-makers nationwide, establishing contacts for further cooperation, dissemination, and use of SeniorForm. To follow up, we hired an employee to maintain these agreements by phone. International meetings were held to design a methodological framework for educational materials for social workers. We gathered information on existing practices and digital skills challenges in nursing homes, leading to the development of materials in English, Danish, and Estonian. Feedback surveys were conducted during pilot test workshops in Estonia and Denmark, resulting in adapted materials published in three languages. Feedback from key stakeholders was collected to evaluate the project’s effectiveness, with results compiled in the final report.<< Results >>Via the students' feedback and the completed questionnaires, we have become sharper on the project with everything from the exercises, the music, the speech, the user interface and the technical connection. Based on the generally positive feedback from the respondents involved, we can state that SeniorForm fulfills the role that we, as the creators, had intended: A supplementary and user-friendly exercise tool in elderly care with increased rehabilitation.
