<< Objectives >>The NATURE-FUTURES project aims to integrate Nature-Based Solutions and Citizen Science into higher education, enhancing sustainability education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and learning. It seeks to equip students and educators with practical tools, develop systemic thinking through digital models, and create strategic roadmaps for institutional adoption. The project fosters engagement with stakeholders, aligning universities with climate action and EU sustainability goals.<< Implementation >>The NATURE-FUTURES project will map Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) and Citizen Science (CS) in higher education, developing a framework, case studies, and institutional strategies. It will create a dynamic system model to enhance systemic thinking skills, along with a teaching manual and adoption measures. The project will engage stakeholders through institutional dialogues and policy recommendations and provide online training, open educational resources, and a collaborative NbS repository.<< Results >>The NATURE-FUTURES project will develop a framework for integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) into university programs, compiling real-world NbS and Citizen Science cases. It will create practical resources for academics, a systemic model for climate challenges, and an open-source tool to promote systemic thinking. Additional outputs include policy briefs, an online training course, a collaborative repository, and dissemination events to ensure long-term impact and stakeholder engagement.
