"<< Background >>We applied for the project because we wanted to contribute to the social inclusion of young people from a vulnerable group - alumni of an institutional foster care unit (""orphanage""). The implementation of the project, on the one hand, offered an opportunity to increase the competences of these 11 young people with limited access to education and, on the other hand, led to the development of universal solutions in the non-formal education sector for young people through staff mobility and joint work on a good practice handbook on the topic of parasport as a tool for social inclusion.The young people supported by the project are alumni with special needs as a result of having a disability certificate.<< Objectives >>Through the project we wanted to achieve the following objectives:- to contribute to the increase of professional competences of youth workers through the exchange of good practices in the area of parasport (13 employees of the entities forming the partnership), - cause an increase in the key and social competences of children and young people in foster care, including young people with special needs (11 wards of the ""Nasz Dom"" foster care centre in Rumia),- contribute to the development of effective solutions in the area of non-formal education in the youth sector through the development, scaling and dissemination of good practices catalogued in a handbook for youth trainers, in particular sports trainers,- to popularise parasport, also as a means of social inclusion for children and young people.<< Implementation >>The following activities were carried out as part of the project:- Mobility of trainers and non-formal education staff of young people working for groups socially excluded or at risk of social exclusion (implementation date 21.02.2022 - 26.02.2022 - 6 working days; 13 participants, including one person with a disability certificate),- Mobility of young people from the foster care environment (implementation date 21.07.2022 - 26.07.2022 - 6 working days; 11 participants, including 4 people with special needs),- Preparation and dissemination of a good practice guide for therapeutic-coaching work ""Don't DISS my ability!"" (completion date 08.2022-12.2022).- The programme ""Don't DISS my ability!"" - activities shaping social competences and physical activity of foster care alumni (implementation date: 03.2022-11.0222; 11 participants, including 4 with special needs).<< Results >>1. personal outcomes (for participants in activities):- 11 foster care alumni (11 boys, 4 of them with special needs) through participation in the transnational mobility: increased their level of physical fitness, increased their level of linguistic competence - English at A2 level, acquired intercultural competence, increased their level of social competence in terms of working in a group across differences;- 11 foster care children (11 boys, 4 of them with special needs) through participation in local activities of the ""Don't DISS my ability!"" programme: improved social and cultural competences, acquired digital competences by learning to design games, soft competences in the field of non-violent communication through participation in NVC training.The above-mentioned competences were recognised through the issuing of Youthpass certificates for 11 alumni.- 13 youth trainers learned new methods of working for young people with disabilities using parasport through participation in the mobility.2.
