"<< Background >>Climate change threatens human well-being and sustainable development, disproportionately affecting youth, especially those with fewer opportunities. GreenRoom addressed the urgent need for climate education by integrating Game-Based Learning (GBL) through the ""Green Escape Room,"" equipping young people with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The project empowered youth workers with innovative tools to engage learners in climate action, bridging gaps in environmental education. With rising digital access, GreenRoom leveraged technology to develop both digital skills and ecological awareness. It also responded to the energy crisis and environmental issues, such as air pollution and plastic waste, which were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. By fostering sustainable habits and civic engagement, the initiative ensured youth became active contributors to climate solutions. Essentially, developed by a consortium of organizations, GreenRoom strengthened youth work practices, promoted social equity, and supported informed decision-making, shaping responsible citizens for a sustainable future.<< Objectives >>The GreenRoom project aimed to equip young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to address climate change through game-based learning. By implementing the project, we sought to raise awareness of climate issues, empower youth to adopt sustainable behaviors, and enhance their digital competencies. Through the Green Escape Room game, we enabled participants to develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills while engaging in environmental education. Additionally, we aimed to strengthen the professional capacity of youth workers by providing them with innovative tools to educate and inspire young people. By fostering active participation in climate action and informed decision-making, GreenRoom sought to transform youth into ambassadors of sustainability, ensuring long-term engagement in environmental and social change.<< Implementation >>The project was effectively managed by GREEN AND BLUE DEVELOPMENT, which oversaw coordination, financial administration, and communication. A partnership agreement was established, and key documents were shared ahead of the Kick-Off Meeting in France. Two transnational meetings facilitated project execution: the Kick-Off Meeting (M2) focused on planning, while the Final Meeting (M18) ensured a comprehensive evaluation. A virtual interim meeting (M9) provided ongoing monitoring and assessment.Also, a comprehensive database on climate change and youth awareness was developed, serving as the foundation for a structured training toolkit. This toolkit, designed to promote sustainability, recycling, and carbon reduction, was refined through audience research and pilot testing.An interactive online platform, featuring the Green Escape Room, engaged young learners through game-based education, integrating quizzes and problem-solving exercises. The dissemination plan established a distinct brand identity, a dedicated website, editorial outreach, and a targeted social media strategy. GreenRoom was presented at networking events, and partners contributed to project reports. Four multiplier events ensured broad engagement and long-term impact<< Results >>The GreenRoom project produced key outputs aimed at empowering youth in climate action through game-based learning. A comprehensive GreenRoom Database was developed, consolidating research on climate change awareness and youth engagement. This formed the foundation for the GreenRoom Toolkit, equipping youth workers with innovative non-formal educational methods to foster sustainable habits and active participation. Also, the Green Escape Room, an interactive digital platform, engaged young people in problem-solving scenarios on environmental issues, reinforcing knowledge through gamification. Additionally, the project enhanced youth workers' competencies, strengthening their ability to guide young people in climate action. The dissemination strategy ensured broad engagement, promoting environmental education at local, national, and European levels.
