<< Background >>VTSNS contacted us in 2022and we were happy to accept cooperation. Besides the growing need for energy and finding ways to save it in the era of energy insecurity it was an answer to the request of the local employers we interviewed in 2019 stating that is a shortage of technicians with skills and knowledge on smart homes. After discussing the project within team we realized companies will be key to learn and to provide our partners support needed to do the same.We contacted several companies and they expressed same problems; lack of skills and information about benefits of smart homes. Smart Touch Osijek offered support the project and help us to introduce students with skills. VTSNS previously developed the model and had ideas and methodology to share. We found establishing cooperation with similar schools would benefit efforts as teaching in the international environment would be a good first step for them to enter EU labour market. In the KA1 project we started cooperating with IKNX Ingeneria Cordoba.Other schools agreed as skills are needed and not many learning programs available. All of the partner schools are educational centres of their region and found necessary to offer students these programs I the future.<< Objectives >>Main objectives of the project were: create smart home models for teaching/training purposes, develop VET programmes on smart home technology and produce teaching materials to be used along with the smart home models in the newly created programmes. We created: Five smart home models, toolkit in several languages for creating smart home models and vide content, Guidelines on instruction methods; Short programmme with 30 ECTS on smart home technologies developed and accredited; Smart Home Club programme developed and delivered; Innovated existing courses with new smart home content; and A variety of VET resources on smart home technologies (teacher’s book, student reader, glossary, video and animated short film), Smart Home VET Net formed by the partnership through webinars for VET professionals outside the partnership and Smart Home Open Days.
