<< Background >>We applied for this project to address the need for more structured and effective ways to engage young people in meaningful civic participation. The project aimed to fill the gap in the professional development of youth workers, especially in the areas of project management and facilitation. Many youth workers lacked the necessary tools and methods to lead projects that encourage active youth involvement, particularly in underrepresented and marginalized communities. Our goal was to develop innovative facilitation tools and strengthen the collaboration between NGOs across Europe. By doing so, we aimed to contribute to the broader EU Strategy for Youth, which emphasizes youth empowerment, inclusion, and civic engagement.<< Objectives >>Our key objective was to enhance the capacity of youth workers to effectively manage and lead youth participation projects. Through this project, we aimed to develop their skills in project management, foster intercultural understanding, and encourage collaboration between youth organizations across Europe. We wanted to create an inclusive platform where youth workers could not only improve their own competencies but also apply these skills to engage marginalized young people. Ultimately, we sought to empower youth to take on leadership roles and contribute to their communities by using innovative facilitation tools that would ensure the success of their projects.<< Implementation >>Throughout the project, we implemented a series of activities designed to equip youth workers with practical skills and tools. We conducted training workshops on facilitation techniques and project management, ensuring that participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning. We organized interactive sessions such as NGO fairs, where participants could network and exchange ideas, and outdoor activities like the Externsteine treasure hunt to promote teamwork and problem-solving. Additionally, we facilitated reflective discussions and ceremonies, such as the Youthpass ceremony, to celebrate participants' achievements and reinforce their learning outcomes. These activities provided a comprehensive and interactive environment for youth workers to apply the skills they had gained.<< Results >>The project successfully delivered several concrete outputs. One of the key results was the creation of a comprehensive facilitation toolkit, which has since been adopted by youth organizations across Europe. The toolkit equips youth workers with practical methods to lead successful projects and engage young people effectively. Moreover, the training workshops resulted in a noticeable improvement in the competencies of participating youth workers, who are now applying these skills in real-world contexts. The project also facilitated the establishment of a robust network of NGOs that continues to collaborate on future initiatives, ensuring that the project's impact extends beyond its completion. The enhanced participation of marginalized youth in civic life was another significant outcome, with several follow-up projects initiated by the participants.
