VETtotheFuture – A comprehensive E-learning platform to get ready for AI in the field of vocational education!

<< Background >>Our motivation was derived from the recognized gap in AI education within vocational education. Existing AI platforms were inaccessible to VET learners lacking strong IT backgrounds. We aimed to democratize access to AI knowledge across diverse VET disciplines and linguistic communities. The project aimed to empower learners and educators with cutting-edge AI skills essential for the digital economy. By bridging this gap, we aimed to enhance employability and equip learners with the competencies needed to thrive in a technology-driven job market. Also, we wished to educate 20 % of our partner institutions' students and teachers in the field of AI to gain basic knowledge of AI through online education, competition, and on-site and virtual events to get closer to the technology with the help of the centralized one-stop-shop for AI.<< Objectives >>The primary objectives were to develop a comprehensive, multilingual e-learning platform dedicated to AI education in VET. We aimed to:1. Centralize AI resources and provide accessible learning materials for VET learners and teachers.2. Foster digital readiness and enhance employability by imparting practical AI skills.3. Innovate VET curricula through project-based learning and interactive tools.4. Engage learners with diverse educational formats like podcasts and real-life challenges.5. Promote transnational collaboration to enrich AI education across borders.<< Implementation >>Implemented activities included:1. Development of a multilingual e-learning platform featuring self-paced AI courses and interactive tools like Genially.2. Creation of a Podcast Bootcamp hosting expert-led discussions on AI topics.3. Organization of a transnational Idea Challenge where VET students proposed AI solutions.4. Agile curriculum development involving feedback from industry experts and educators.5. Conducted awareness campaigns and dissemination events to promote AI literacy in VET.<< Results >>The main concreate results we achieved within our project:̶A multilingual and modular AI e-learning platform serving as a one-stop-shop for AI̶7 easily accessible, SCORM-format and self-paced e-learning courses with interactive elements̶Podcast Bootcamp with 33 episodes of podcasts covering diverse AI applications.̶Successful transnational Idea Challenge on AI with 6 innovative student proposals̶Enhanced digital and AI literacy among VET learners and educators.̶Improved employability through practical AI skills and industry-aligned curricula.̶Collaborative partnerships fostering international knowledge exchange.̶Innovative agile methods in curriculum development and platform integration.̶Long-term impact on VET education by bridging the digital skills gap.̶Several awareness-raising campaigns both online and offline
