Educational Marketplace + Green Melodies

<< Background >>We found out the need for international co-operation in general. In music education teachers do mainly solitary work with few co-operation opportunities. We met the need to work together and face digitalisation with international colleagues. There was also hope of developing specific aspects in the education, for example find support to work with new study plan in improvisation and composing music. We had growing need to find ways to international co-operation apart from pandemic situations and strengthen virtual co-operation abilities and practices. We wanted to bring together students who are interested in composing music and give them support also to continue instrument studies in music education through a season where most study drop offs happen. Social support and belonging to a group that has similar goals is important during teenager years. << Objectives >>We wanted to bring digital solutions to music education with own material to support very beginners teaching in case of pandemic situation. We found out that there was much material to advanced and intermediate learners. We wanted to support home practice at very early learning stage and also to find out methods to teach students composing music online in international co-operation. We wanted to create support for the teenagers by teaching, bringing them together learning and being inspired by professional composers. We wanted to create Green Melodies concerts focused on student compositions and green values. One of the main goals was to bring support in teaching the improvisation and composing. We wanted to create opportunities to international co-operation and professional development. We wanted to find a pathway to green mobilities and develop our international practices sustainably and support one another in digitalisation. Through the outwards goals and achievements we wanted to support teenagers life long positive relationship with music. << Implementation >>We implemented many virtual activities like distant mobilities, online classes, virtual composing workshops, virtual educational marketplace digital meetings, and leadership virtual project meetings. We implemented 4 actual physical mobilities: in Sweden in Norrtälje, in Germany in Ratingen, in Finland in Kokkola and in Spain in San Javier. Mobilities were short and filled with composition workshops and preparation to final concerts. We held one transnational project meeting and Multiplier events meetings. We performed four green melodies concerts during the mobilities, as well Chamber music concerts and some rehearsal concerts before the actual green melodies concerts.
