"<< Background >>Logopsycom applied for this project to address the urgent need for better language and reading support in education. EU research highlights significant gaps: only 42% of students reach an independent level (B1-B2) in their first foreign language, and just 25% do so in a second (EU Survey on Language Competencies, 2015). Despite longstanding EU efforts to promote multilingualism, many students—especially in disadvantaged schools and those with learning disabilities or hearing impairments—struggle to meet language standards.Needs addressed:1. Enhancing Language Learning & Literacy: Provided engaging digital reading materials to improve foreign language proficiency.2. Inclusive Education for Diverse Learners: Offered adapted eBooks with customizable features for students with SLDs, hearing impairments, and disadvantaged backgrounds.3. Empowering Teachers with Innovative Tools: Equipped educators with digital resources, pedagogical packages, and training materials to enhance language instruction.<< Objectives >>The BiblioLingua project aimed to improve language learning by providing digital reading tools adapted to different learners, including those with specific learning disorders (SLDs), hearing impairments, and disadvantaged backgrounds. The goal was to offer accessible and engaging eBooks while supporting teachers with educational resources to improve language instruction. The project partners also wanted to address gaps in foreign language proficiency, as studies show that many students do not reach the expected levels. By developing digital reading materials with customizable features, we ensured that learners could access European literature in a way that suited their needs. In addition to helping students, BiblioLingua focused on teacher development by providing ready to use lesson plans, a creation manual, and accessibility guidelines. These resources aimed to support educators in using digital tools and inclusive teaching methods in their classrooms. The project also promoted European cultural heritage by adapting classic literary works, allowing students to engage with the richness of European literature while improving their language skills.<< Implementation >>1. Five management activities ensured coordination, partner involvement, and continuous progress.2. Partners’ meetings in Paris, Turin, and Malaga facilitated discussions on project advancement.3. A digital platform was created to host adapted eBooks, pedagogical materials, and teacher guidelines, featuring accessibility options like font adjustments, text spacing, background colors, and multimedia support.4. 17 animated and illustrated eBooks were developed, adapted for different reading levels following CEFR and Easy-to-Read guidelines. Each was supported by 17 pedagogical dossiers, providing cultural, historical, and linguistic context, and 17 structured lesson materials to assist teachers in language instruction. 5. Two testing phases with 450 students and 25 teachers ensured usability and effectiveness.6. Making of ""Creation Manual"" that guides teachers in developing their own eBooks, supported by step-by-step instructions and video tutorials. 7. An Implementation Booklet that summarizes best practices for classroom integration.8. To strengthen the project’s identity, a logo, color palette, and graphic charter were designed. 9. A dissemination strategy was implemented, including events in partner countries.<< Results >>The BiblioLingua project produced several concrete outputs to support language learning and inclusion through digital reading tools. One key result was the development of 17 animated and illustrated eBooks based on classic European literature, adapted to different reading levels following the CEFR framework and Easy-to-Read guidelines. These eBooks were designed to be accessible for learners with specific learning disorders (SLDs), hearing impairments, and disadvantaged backgrounds. For educators, the project created pedagogical packages for each eBook, including lesson plans, historical and cultural insights, and interactive learning activities. Additionally, a creation manual with guidelines and instructional videos was developed to help teachers produce their own adapted digital reading materials. All resources were made available in an online library with customizable reading settings, such as font type, size, spacing, background color, and multimedia features like audio and animations. Finally, an implementation booklet was produced to facilitate the integration of these resources into classrooms, ensuring their long-term use in language education."
