<< Background >>The motivation for ‘The Bigger Picture Tools’ came from the need to improve the capacity of organisations providing adult learning in light of complex global challenges such as globalisation, increasing digital interconnectivity, ethnic and religious conflicts, climate change and inequalities. Building on the previous KA2 project, ‘The Bigger Picture’, which formulated a global competency framework for adults and educators, the partners deepened the work and demonstrated how critical it is for adult educators to gain in-depth knowledge of global education principles and develop global competencies in their students. education has a central role in shaping informed and engaged citizens capable of critical thinking and empathy towards a more equitable and sustainable world, and they also realised that organisations providing adult learning face limitations in effectively delivering global education due to a lack of pedagogical tools or resources. The new project addressed the gaps by improving the pedagogical skills of adult educators and strengthened the organisations' capacity to address global challenges and fostered a learning environment where adults developed skills to navigate an interconnected world.<< Objectives >>BIGPIC provided adult educators with comprehensive, adaptable and effectively integrated resources and tools for teaching practices and promoting global learning in different educational contexts, enhancing their pedagogical competence and equipping them with the skills needed to deliver quality global education through the use of developed resources and tools. The project raised adults' awareness and understanding of global challenges (climate change, inequality, digital interconnectivity) and supported educators in developing the global and intercultural competencies needed to operate in increasingly diverse, interconnected and multicultural environments and offered practical approaches to address global issues in the classroom, actively engaging adults and encouraging them to think critically about the world around them. These objectives aligned with the broader aims of the Erasmus+ programme and key European strategies, such as the Europe 2020 Strategy, which aimed to raise the level of education in Europe through lifelong learning, and the ET 2020 Strategic Framework, which aimed to support European cooperation in education and training by promoting high standards of educational quality, inclusion and global competences.<< Implementation >>The project was divided into several key activities and involved management activities that included monitoring the coordination between all partners, ensuring that deadlines were met and managing the financial and administrative aspects of the project.R1 BigPic MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) educational tool on an e-learning platform. Online educational content and tools on global education (human rights, anti-hunger, energy and environment) were designed and produced, such as videos, documents, best practices, engaging and easily accessible self-assessment tools aimed at adult educators to provide them with practical tools and resources.R2 BigPic Toolkit: created 9 practical learning exercises/resources (group work, debates, quizzes, individual activities, books, games, videos) for educators working with adults, focusing on competence development in global educationR3 BigPic guide for educators and support: development of a guide and guidelines with user-friendly resources and support materials for educators, technicians and volunteers working with adults on global and intercultural issues.<< Results >>The concrete results of the project created specific, practical resources and tools to support educators in integrating global learning within adult education and contributed to improving educators' disciplinary knowledge and pedagogical skills, enabling them to deliver high-quality global education using materials developed specifically for this purpose.BIGPIC has contributed to an increased awareness and understanding of global issues among adults, highlighting the critical role of education in helping citizens develop crucial skills to address global challenges and opportunities. BIGPIC supported the strengthening of global and intercultural competencies among teachers, addressing the need felt by many educators to fill their own gaps in global competence, thus improving their confidence and preparedness to deal with complex and sensitive issues.Finally, practical strategies were offered to engage adults on global and controversial issues, helping educators to create a stimulating learning environment that promoted critical reflection and active participation and contributed to significant growth in educators' ability to provide global education and in preparing adults to become globally aware and competent citizens.
