Digitisation and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) to Enhance Care for Youth with Congenital Anomalies: A Training Program for Healthcare Workers in Delivering Psychosocial Interventions

<< Objectives >>This project is developing a one-day and 1micro-credit training course for healthcare workers, focusing on digitalisation and VR technology for psychosocial interventions in youth with congenital anomalies (CA). Recognising the paramount need in the EU for accessible psychosocial interventions, this initiative aims to enhance healthcare workers' skills and address the current shortfall of such interventions in the EU, offering families and youth more interactive, quality psychosocial support.<< Implementation >>By having higher education institutions collaborate closely with hospitals and NGOs to develop a psychosocial training program for healthcare workers while emphasising the importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and digitalisation. The activities of the project are to (i) develop, (ii) test, (iii) implement, and (iv) disseminate the developed training for healthcare workers, enabling them to facilitate a psychosocial intervention with the help of virtual reality for youth with CA.<< Results >>- A one-day training course and 1 micro-credential course (27 hours) developed - 50 healthcare workers trained - 8 multiplier events reaching at least 500 people- Dissemination activities reaching min. 20,000 people in 70 countries - All involved will have an increased knowledge about digitalisation, EDI, and psychosocial aspects of those affected by CA - Free access to the courses via a learning platform- A website containing the developed material can be downloaded until 2030 for free
