<< Background >>We applied for this project to address the urgent need for raising awareness and education on environmental challenges, particularly the degradation of ecosystems and biodiversity loss. Our goal was to train students, teachers, and parents in sustainable practices and environmental restoration through innovative methods. The project focused on SDG 15, promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, reversing land degradation, and halting biodiversity loss.We aimed to develop environmental responsibility using Web2.0 tools, STEAM education, and out-of-school learning. The project encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, intercultural understanding, and community engagement. Participants gained knowledge about environmental issues, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable development, which they shared with their peers and local communities.Through activities like digital posters, e-books, videos, manuals, and international cooperation, we targeted both ecological and digital skills while promoting a stronger connection with nature.<< Objectives >>The main objective of the project was to foster environmental awareness and action among students, teachers, and the wider community, in line with UN SDG 15. Through innovative, interactive methods, the project aimed to educate participants about, within, and for the environment. Using Web2.0 tools, STEAM methodologies, and outdoor learning, we wanted to encourage creative thinking and active problem-solving for ecosystem restoration. The project also aimed to strengthen digital, ecological, and intercultural competences, promote collaboration among international partners, and empower participants to transfer knowledge and sustainable practices into their schools and local communities.<< Implementation >>Throughout the project, we implemented a wide range of interactive and inclusive activities. Regular online team meetings ensured continuous coordination and evaluation. We delivered four online trainings: two for students (MK, TR), one for teachers (PT), and one for parents (GR), focusing on environmental awareness and digital tools. Three student mobilities were successfully carried out: “The hum of bees is the voice of the garden” in North Macedonia, “Treasure Hunt with Digital Interactive Tools” in Portugal, and “Life Cycle of a Creature: Caretta caretta” in Türkiye. A STEM workshop in Greece provided hands-on experience in combining science and environmental education. Each school partner organized a local conference and a recycling exhibition to raise community awareness. These events promoted sustainability, sharing of good practices, and encouraged local engagement in environmental actions.<< Results >>The project produced a variety of concrete results aligned with its goals. Students, teachers, and parents significantly increased their awareness of environmental issues and sustainable practices through training, mobilities, and digital engagement. Participants shared acquired knowledge with peers and their communities, amplifying the project's local impact. Interest in STEM and STEAM subjects grew, particularly through hands-on activities and real-life exploration of ecosystems. Digital and ecological skills were developed via Web2.0 tools and STEAM-based learning. The cross-border mobilities supported the recognition of learning outcomes and encouraged personal growth. Understanding and appreciation of interculturality deepened through collaborative activities and shared experiences. Outputs included a digital poster on ecological footprints, an e-book on biodiversity and restoration, a public video on forest fires, a manual on circular economy, two newsletters, and an active eTwinning project with partners from over ten countries.
