"Lernwerkstatt ""nachhaltiger Umweltschutz"""

<< Background >>The climate and environmental protection goals of both Germany and the EU continue to require support with measures, especially in the world of work and professional life. However, these goals have only increasingly been reflected in vocational training in recent years and still require more detail and improvement. The project took this need into account by using low-threshold offers, namely learning workshops, to address climate and environmental protection in vocational training and to develop practice-oriented teaching offers. Both the needs of the learners through the learning workshops themselves and those of the teachers were taken into account through a qualification concept for teachers in the learning workshops.<< Objectives >>The development of learning workshops for sustainable environmental protection should address the topic of environmental protection and the climate and environmental protection goals of the EU and its member states and use the results to make a substantial contribution to achieving these goals. The holistic, general concept, the 5 job-specific examples and the qualification concept for the educational staff enable directly implementable action to impart green, sustainable knowledge within the framework of vocational training, further education and training, as has been required throughout the EU for a long time.<< Implementation >>The partners first developed a general concept for learning workshops for sustainable environmental protection based on a professional study. In a second step, the investigation and general concept formed the basis for the development of 5 job-specific learning workshops. This development was distributed across the partner countries so that a learning workshop was developed and tested in a national context in each partner country. The qualification concept for the educational staff is based on a needs analysis through case studies that were carried out in each partner country. In addition, quality standards were created for this qualification concept in order to achieve comparable quality learning workshops in all partner countries.<< Results >>During the course of the project, 4 results were achieved:1. The general concept of “learning workshops for sustainable environmental protection”2. 5 job-specific learning workshops: nursing, construction, trade, catering and commercial-technical areas.3. A qualification concept for educational staff in learning workshops,4. Quality standards for the qualification concept.Through the various multiplier events, a relevant specialist public was made aware of the project results and a first step was taken towards introducing the learning workshops into the educational landscape.
