EduCATIA transforms AI education in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, bridging the gap between national digitalization goals (Digital Kazakhstan 2025, Digital Uzbekistan 2030) and the limited AI integration in higher education. By modernizing curricula, strengthening university-industry collaboration, and aligning AI education with policy frameworks, the project equips graduates with the skills needed for an AI-driven economy.Core ObjectivesThe initiative updates five university courses, aligning them with European standards:• AI & Machine Learning (deep learning, NLP, computer vision).• Big Data & Predictive Analytics (Python, TensorFlow, Power BI).• AI Ethics & Regulation (data governance, privacy, responsible AI).• AI in Healthcare & Life Sciences (automated diagnostics, medical imaging).• AI & Innovation in Education & Digital Governance (e-learning, digital policies).To enhance practical learning, introduces:• Mentorship programs, pairing students with AI experts for project-based learning.• Internships with local and international companies, focusing on AI applications in healthcare, governance, and digital transformation.The project also strengthens AI innovation by:• Expanding university-industry-policy collaboration.• Supporting AI research, startups, and digital transformation initiatives.Expected Outcomes• AI integration into national higher education policies.• AI curricula adopted by five universities.• 800+ faculty trained in AI pedagogy.• Five AI labs established for research and practical learning.• 20 students participate in Erasmus+ mobility.Alignment with EU Priorities EduCATIA supports Erasmus+ digital transformation goals and the Global Gateway Strategy, promoting AI education, workforce upskilling, and digital governance while reinforcing EU-Central Asia cooperation.With WFS as an inclusion advisor, the project ensures accessibility and gender equity, actively encouraging female participation in AI education and leadership.
