"<< Background >>In 2018, the Swedish Ministry School Inspectorate (Skolinspektionen) reported that talented learners often fail to reach their full potential due to a lack of strategies for inclusion in classrooms. Similar challenges were identified in all of our six partner countries. The project therefore set out to strengthen educators’ capacity to identify, reach and support talented learners, including “twice exceptional” i.e. learners who combine giftedness with learning difficulties. The needs analysis, carried out by the transnational steering committee based on national reports from each country, background research, as well as, school experiences, showed that although inclusion and equal opportunities are widely promoted, systematic methods and tools for fostering diverse talents were either inadequate or missing. There was also limited understanding of how effective practices could be adapted across different school systems. By addressing these needs, our project aimed to embed talent education in school development, enhance educators’ professional competences and raise awareness of how to recognise and engage talented learners, providing motivating and challenging teaching that enables them to thrive and reach their full potential.<< Objectives >>The project aimed to provide educators, primarily in upper secondary education, with practical tools and methods to recognise and support talented and “twice-exceptional” learners, so they can reach their full potential. We sought to strengthen educators’ capacity to identify and include these learners, prevent risks such as boredom, underachievement or early school drop-out, as well as to promote social inclusion. By developing an interactive, digital and downloadable eHandbook presenting pedagogical models and testing these methods in practice, the project encouraged professional development, innovative teaching practices and digital learning, while actively fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge and good practices and peer learning across a Europe. Ultimately, our goal was to empower educators to create more inclusive and motivating classrooms, identify and nurture talented learners and contribute to a more innovative, equitable and democratic European society. Project activities were undertaken with the aim of minimising the project's carbon footprint & respecting the three pillars presented in the brochure ""Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Enriching lives, opening minds"".<< Implementation >>The project activities were organised in 5 work packages (WP) & overall coordinated by Sjölins Gymnasium. Each partner took responsibility for one or more specific areas based on excellence. WP1 covered overall project management and monitoring “Educating talents”(ET), continuous reporting, individual meetings between the coordinator/each partner, between partners. WP2 Implementation contains 8 Steering Committee meetings (SCs), 13 digital meetings and results of pedagogical modules to the eHandbook (R1)Case methodology, flexbased learning, Honors pedagogies, Innovating problem solving, Kangaroo methodology and Motivation through individualisation. (R2)Recognising talented learners (TL) and twice exceptional. (R3)strategies for social inclusion, blended learning. (R4)strategies to improve awareness of blended teaching resources. (R5)strategies to improve awareness among educators about the needs of TL. WP3 Experimentation, 4 TLAs in NL, BE, SE and AT. WP4 Quality monitoring, analysis and evaluation. Digital tools used WhatsApp, email, GDrive (moved to OneDrive for accessibility). WP5 Sharing and Promotion, spread via the Final Conference, national multiplier events, publications and online channels.<< Results >>We developed a strategy on how to recognise talented learners and twice exceptional, as well as, six pedagogical models i.e. Case methodology, Flexbased learning, Honors pedagogies, Innovating problem solving, Kangaroo methodology and Motivation through individualisation. All were tested in classrooms by educators from our 6 partner countries at four TLAs. The TLAs allowed educators to gain hands-on experience, learn and adapt strategies to their own contexts and provide feedback for further development to the specialists. Based on this process, we created an eHandbook presented in three digital formats, interactive, flipbook and downloadable pdf, open source, freely downloadable in 6 languages, adaptable to meet needs across EU. Through digital innovation, interdisciplinary approaches and international insights, the eHandbook was developed to provide a pathway for educators to implement methodologies to support TL to reach their full potential. The eHandbook content is structured to provide adaptable approaches that can be integrated into different school systems and curricula, ensuring accessibility in different educational environments.
