Digital Tools for Digital Natives

"<< Background >>The first inspiration on our project was our school missions and visions, which are to raise teenagers by using the strategies, the methods and techniques of this technological era, to present a teaching and learning environment according to modern digital world, to be an institution which becomes a brand in contemporary education. Besides this, we got also inspired by the Digital Education Action Plan that the European Union adopted for the years between 2021 and 2027. It has two priorities which are to foster a high-performing digital education ecosystem and to enhance digital skills and competences for the digital age. When we carried out the needs analysis in our schools, we saw in the rates that teachers' digital competences were not enough and the students were not interested in digital education and digital tools so much. Without partner countries and organizations, this learning process would be limited within our country. Therefore, the information and the experience we would acquire within our own country would be peculiar to only our nation itself. Consequently, all partners found it necessary to organize mobilities in each country after seeing weaknesses in our digital competences in our need analyses.<< Objectives >>We had five objectives in this project. These were:- developing digital competences that the teachers have;- adapting to today's technology world and bringing digital materials to the classroom;- developing digital tools according to our students' needs and interests;- developing interaction between student and teacher, providing their active participation;- increasing the quality of online and distant education.Apart from these main objectives, cultural interaction and English practice were also aimed.<< Implementation >>We had five activities in five partner schools. They were:- learning digital tools of Maths and Science such as Microsoft 365,Microsoft Teams, the resources of STEM in Latvia;- the tools of SEN and Psychology such as Araword, pictoselector in Portugal;- the tools of Commerce and Tourism such as webshop site, infographic in Hungary;- the tools of Foreign language and Social Sciences such as Kahoot, Quizizz, Canva in Turkey;- the tools of Technology and ICT such as 2d-3d modeling, robotic coding in Italy.<< Results >>External links to activities can be found in the attached file ""Links to.docx""RESULTS ARE:- we learned how to develop digital competences that the teachers have,- we got the knowledge on how to prepare and use our own digital tools effectively according to our students' needs and interests,- we learned how to create an ideal learning environment for students,- we learned how to adapt to today's technology world and how to bring the digital materials to the classroom,- we learned how to provide a better way of distant learning,- we created e-twinning twinspace and facebook page about the project,- we prepared and published a brochure about the tools we mostly used in our schools and also introduced our schools in it,- we hung posters to create awareness about 'digital tools',- we created logos to take everybody's attention on our project and topic,- we had cultural interactions,- we got some ideas about the education systems of the partner countries,- we improved our English,- we shared all the project outcomes in social media and Erasmus+ corners of the schools."
