"<< Background >>The 21st century is the century of visuality. Our target audience comes across nearly 300 pieces of visual information per day on online platforms, websites, or on television. All of these are current products of the me-generation.Members of both project partner organisations regularly visit schools or are close to children for family reasons. Our personal motivation was that we saw with regret that the paintings made in the past are slowly fading into oblivion. We wanted to approach the uPaint-theme in a way that is perfectly known and regularly used by users: usually they take their own pictures to different platforms and provide them with different filters and stickers and share them. After all, the me-generation likes to identify everything with itself. We wanted to complement (school) art education with a fun and at the same time meaningful application. Unfortunately, such an application was not available in the digital stores, in which users could not only look at the works of art, but also modify them to their liking and share the final product.<< Objectives >>The mission statement of the Spanish partner organisation, Arte Sostenible, is to ""promote art as an effective tool for positive change."" Both project partners consider the promotion of art extremely important, and we consider it important to introduce the outstanding visual achievements of the given nation to the youth. We believe that art is a very good medium for achieving great social goals. We wanted to achieve, if through the mediation of art, more effective social goals, such as social justice, environmental protection, or sustainability. We firmly believe that art can be used to convey this information to people in an experiential way.The uPaint application is a tool to support visual culture and introduce important paintings of the world to children. We wanted to achieve that with a free digital (and easily accessible) mobile application, they could publish content using the inspiring, educational and attention-grabbing power of art, which is difficult to implement directly.<< Implementation >>The first main activity was the creation of the mobile application and the production and uploading of the contents. After several changes, the user experience and user interface designs were completed (the former defines the process of the operating mechanism, and the latter the visual appearance of the various functions). At the end of the long process, the programming was completed. A lot of testing and some bug fixing tasks were done (Attachment_1).The development of the content was preceded by serious consultation work. We managed to obtain the rights to use the images, which we uploaded to the framework after appropriate post-processing. (Attachment_2)Project communication took place on the web, social media and in person. The web platform (www.upaintapp.com) that can be used in 3 languages has also been completed, which on the one hand provides informational tasks, on the other hand we have expanded the blog, and educational guides are also available free of charge. We have created 3 accounts on Facebook, where everyone can find out about the news related to the project in their native language (facebook.com/upaintapp). We also went to schools and held art classes (Attachment_3) (methodology will be detailed later).<< Results >>The uPaint application was created, which is available in both major application stores (Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store) for free, without restrictions, in both smartphone and tablet versions. (Attachment_4)In the submitted application, we undertook to upload 20 images per country, a total of 40 paintings, to the mobile app. Already at the beginning of the implementation, we experienced that on the one hand this number is small, and on the other hand, the interest from the museums is greater than we expected, so we would be able to upload more. Currently there are 168 images (31 Spanish and 137 Hungarian). On social media, organic and advertised reach can be measured together. By the end of the project, we reached 356,236 people. (Attachment_5)The children's cultural openness became greater, and their related experiences became colourful. After viewing and processing the paintings in the application, they can later greet them in museums as much closer ""acquaintances"". Their desire to explore museums increased significantly (the characteristics of museums before the application according to the children: ""unknown"", ""boring"", ""dry"", after the application: ""interesting"", ""exciting"", ""colourful"")."
