"<< Background >>We applied for this project to address the pressing need to equip young people, especially those at risk of marginalization, with the skills required to thrive in the green and sustainable economy. As Europe rapidly transitions towards climate neutrality and digital transformation, many young people face challenges entering or adapting to the labour market. This project focuses on upskilling and reskilling, ensuring that youth with fewer opportunities can remain competitive and avoid marginalization during this shift. It also addresses the need for youth workers and organizations to enhance their competence in sustainable development, enabling them to better prepare and support young people in securing employment in a greener economy. By aligning with EU initiatives like the European Green Deal and the Pact for Skills, the project seeks to promote social fairness, competitiveness, and resilience in response to future challenges.<< Objectives >>Through the GYW project, we aim to equip young people with fewer opportunities with the necessary green skills to reduce their risk of marginalization in the labor market during the transition to a greener and more environmentally sustainable economy. Our objectives are threefold:1. Develop green skills for marginalized youth through an e-course, helping them secure employment in a sustainable economy (WP2).2. Empower youth workers and organization representatives with green skills and encourage them to implement activities that help marginalized youth reduce their risk of exclusion from the labour market (WP3).3. Prepare young people for work in the green economy by providing them with knowledge of sustainable development and behavioural strategies to adapt to new working conditions (WP4).Overall, we aim to promote green education as a tool to support marginalized youth, ensuring that they are prepared for and can thrive in the changing labour market.<< Implementation >>In the GYW project, we implemented the following activities:1.WP1: Project Management – Coordinated and managed the overall project to ensure smooth execution.2.WP2: E-course on Green Skills – Designed, developed, and piloted the e-course ""Green Skills for Successful Employment and Work"" for young people at risk of marginalization. The pilot was implemented in Poland, Latvia, Ukraine, and Italy.3.WP3: Summer School – Designed, developed, and implemented a summer school titled ""Green Skills of Youth at Risk of Marginalization,"" aimed at equipping youth organization representatives and youth workers with green skills and strategies to support marginalized youth.4.WP4: WebQuest – Developed and implemented the WebQuest ""Green Skill for Decent Work"" for young people, along with the brochure ""Green Work 4 Youth: Scenario of Quest"" to provide guidance.5.WP5: Communication and Dissemination – Organized four multiplier events in the form of ""World Cafe"" sessions in Italy, Latvia, Ukraine, and Poland under the theme ""Green Work 4 Youth"" to raise awareness and disseminate project results.<< Results >> The GYW project produced the following concrete outputs and results aimed at equipping young people with green skills and supporting youth workers in helping marginalised youth transition to a greener economy:1. E-course ""Green Skills for Successful Employment and Work"" – This online course was designed and developed to provide young people at risk of marginalization with the green skills necessary for employment in the evolving labour market. The course was successfully piloted in Poland, Latvia, Ukraine, and Italy, helping young participants acquire crucial skills for the green economy.2. Summer School ""Green Skills of Youth at Risk of Marginalization"" – We designed, developed, and implemented a summer school that targeted youth organizations and youth workers, enhancing their ability to support marginalized youth in developing green skills and finding employment in a sustainable economy.3. WebQuest ""Green Skill for Decent Work"" – A practical and interactive tool designed to help young people prepare for the labour market by teaching them sustainable development concepts and adaptive strategies. This was supplemented by the brochure ""Green Work 4 Youth: Scenario of Quest."""
